need Anthony Davis as our KG  ;D
extremely wishful thinking, but we do need a defensive anchor who is capable of scoring and can play center. which is only like 3 guys in the league.

He's the pierce. Rondo is the ray allen. We still need a KG.

Yep. As long as we're comparing them, that's the best way to put it. Love would be somewhere between KG and Ray Allen.

not even close but hed be the least important part of a theoretical new big 3 like allen was..unless youd count asik/sanders as part of a big 3....

Depends on how u think about it really.

In my eyes, he's the Ray Allen because he's the one that's going to be acquired on Draft Day that will give another star (last time KG, this time, who?) that extra push to want to come here.  Rondo is Pierce this time around because he's the captain.  That's how I view them.
Play to win.  Always.

I think that's valid too. I really, really want to just skip the next 200 pages of exposition and just see how the darn thing ends. Who comes aboard? Who leaves? What's the twist?

My prognostication: We get Love, at the cost of Sullinger, Olynyk, Bogans, Bass, the #6 and another future 1st round pick. We use Kris Humpries rights to sign and trade him to a Bogans deal for Kevin Martin.

Then, we use Pierce's trade exception for Omer Asik. Houston does indeed get Carmelo Anthony.

We resign Bradley to a 3 yr 24 million dollar contract (or thereabouts)

We go forward with
Rondo/Bradley
Martin/Bradley
Green/Johnson
Love/Wallace
Asik/Faverani

Fill in the rest of the roster with vet mins.

We look all year for potential trade partners to take on Gerald Wallace's contract without bankrupting our future assets.

I would say KG because we are going to give a lot for him...also he is one of the best power forwards..and i love him bc he spreads the court...but we need Larry sanders next to him

He can be the best player on a championship team and is a top 5 player in the league.  You can't expect to have two of the top 5 players like OKC now and like Miami had.  He would be our KG.

Trading the #5 for Ray Allen (much older and probably not any better than KLove)

Now I've seen it all.

Yeah, right, Ray Allen is probably not any better than Kevin Love.  ::)
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Ray was the weakest of those mentioned.  But his game is predicated upon a skill shooting.   Skills don't fade usually, athletic ability does but a lot of the skill stays in there.   I think Love right now had a better year last year than Ray ever had.  That being said, Ray can still shoot the ball.

He is the gateway star to the next star wanting to come.

I don't think he is either of those guys. I see this as a much different deal than the KG and Ray deals due to age.

Kevin Love is 25, Rondo is 28, this isn't a last stitch effort at a championship this is a prolonged effort towards building a championship. The big 3 came in and it was immediately championship or bust. I think they add Love this year and become very good while getting better every single year, where the big 3 were at their best their first year.

If I had to pick one I would say he's like KG. With the Minnesota parallel, playing the same position. Maybe he isn't as good as KG but he's certainly more well rounded than Ray Allen was.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

well, IF you get Kevin Love I think you become a competitive team, but not a championship contender right away. another shoe needs to drop to grab a 3rd star...but then again looking at the landscape I dont see too many all-stars out there besides Melo.....is two all stars in Rondo/Love with a supporting case of very good but not great roleplayers who can average 13-16 ppg in Green/Bradley enough.

maybe lance stephenson but i'm not sure if you want to deal with that unless Stevens can keep him in line

I agree with this statement. Love won't suddenly average 30 ppg and 15 rpg for us. Rondo and Rubio pretty much gave Love the same assist in my HONEST opinion. But Love does IMPROVE our team dramatically with his presence.

I do see Rondo as our Ray Allen (in terms of hierarchy, not skills, as the #3 best player on the big 3). Love is our Pierce (2nd best player on the big 3 but does a lot of scoring). I agree with many of the above, we need a kG in the game (one that can score, and anchor our defense and has a big presence in the locker room on the court and a leader on and off the court).
