Regarding the OP, theres a few issues that come to mind...
1. The TWolves arent accepting only two pucks in the deal... We would need to throw in ATLEAST one more pick and maybe even some expirings/ungauranteed contracts to sweeten the deal
2. Point #1 was assuming Wallace wasnt included... If were ridding ourselves of Wallace we'll need to include 1-2 more picks which I just dont think its worth it... Would rather live with Wallace for one more year then trade him next summer as he'll be a valuable expiring..

Could make the ECF with that team.  Don't know if it would win the East.

This.  No one's beating LeBron for the next couple years (whether he's with Miami or elsewhere).  That's my issue with choosing the present over the future; no matter who we get by cashing in our chips now, I feel like our ceiling is being the Knicks to LeBron's Jordan.  I do like that team if we're getting Love but I'd rather wait LeBron out.

Dallas already beat Bron.  The Spurs SHOULD have beaten him last year.  Are we going to wait out Durant as well?

Mike

^^^ Exactly... Why not just wait for Anthony Davis and Andrew Wiggins to retire as well so we can start competing... -_-

The kid that gets picked first overall in the 2099 draft is going to be a beast. I say let's hold off til after he steps down.

I'd guess Danny's grandson would have accumulated a pretty sizable array of assets by then...

If Bradley's shooting improves as it had been earlier in the year, it would take an alpha-dog SG to be an upgrade from Bradley.  Defense is so good, shooting was looking real good too.

If only Bradley could stay healthy...

Deng > Green, and the difference could be a good-to-great team type difference.

Upgrading to Deng and bringing PP back off the bench would be nice complements to bringing in Love and Asik.

No, none of those guys are at, or will ever reach, LeBron's level.  He's the best player since Jordan, and beating him at his peak on a team perfectly built around his strengths (which Dallas didn't do) is going to be [dang] near impossible.  The Spurs came close, but they have a brilliant coach and a system that has been in place for years and runs like a well oiled machine.  The Thunder might have a chance one day, but they have a superstar who can at least be mentioned in the same sentence as LeBron.  We have none of those things, and with or without Love we won't have any of them while LeBron is at his peak. So yes, I think we should try to get a younger superstar and build a cohesive team around him that will begin to peak as LeBron is aging.  You might call it cowardly; I call it maximizing our chances at a ring.

Maximizing your chances at a ring involves taking advantage of the times when you are not the best but have a non-zero chance at a title.  Maximizing your chances does not involve being a weenie who sits back and only wants to compete when you think you will be the favorite.

We'll have to agree to disagree. If you want to pray that Miami, OKC, San Antonio, the Clippers, and the Pacers all self-combust next season and the door opens for us to win a title with Love and Rondo as our best players, go ahead.  I'd prefer to be patient and build a team that doesn't need to catch a million breaks to win a title. If you think that makes me a weenie or cheese-eating surrender monkey, fine, but being called names that I haven't heard since about third grade isn't going to change my opinion of what's the most likely path to a title.

Seems like an overpay for Deng, but I could see them contending

Take out Bradley add in Stephenson.

Rondo Stephenson green love Asik, KO as the 6th man. That Could make serious noise in the east. Especially if we could get Bradley for his qo (he is best for as a bench player). Sign Paul pierce with the mle.

Rondo
Stephenson
Green
Love
Asik

Pierce, KO, Bradley off the bench. That could compete for a championship IMHO.

That squad looks pretty impressive, not so sure the Celtics can afford to keep Bradley and sign Stephenson who i'm sure will receive some high offers

Do you know how much over the cap that lineup would be?

Rondo 13 mil
Stephenson 12 mil I think it's reasonable all things Stephenson considered
Green 9.2 mil
Love 15.7 mil
Asik absorbed with the te.

That's 50 mil for starters leaving us the plenty for the bench hopefully we can get Bradley for his qualifying offer and use the mle for pierce KO I believe will be at 2 mil on his rd.
"Maybe there is hope for us afterall

I post a lot of stuff on my phone autocorrect sucks.

I can see some dunderhead GM, hopefully not ours, paying Stephenson a lot more than that.

Otherwise, it's a decent team. On paper it wouldn't win any championships, but luckily the game's not played on paper.

No offense to the OP, but you are kidding right?

To summarise:
- Rondo: We already had lastyear
- Martin: Is a horrible defender and had scoring production on par with Bradley last season
- Deng: Is no better than Green yet a signifcant injury risk
- Love: Is one of the worst defensive bigs in the NBA
- Asik: Is one of the worst offensive bigs in the NBA

This team would unlikely be any better than the team we had last season (which finished with the 5th worst record in the NBA).  The absolute ceiling for this team (assuming all the stars aligned and miracles happened) would be lottery in the west, or a first round (sweep) exit in the east.  The floor would basically be the same thing we just went through last season - a bottom 8 finish.

That's a terrible team.

Honestly you have no idea what you're talking about.
That line up has scoring, defensiveness toughness and size- it's probably the best rebounding team in the NBA and has 3 excellent three point shooters to spread the floor for Rondo penetrate.
It's got 3 All Stars in a terrible eastern conference and wipes the floor with a team like Chicago or Atlanta.
Deng is far more consistent than Green and has a better overall game- he's an All Star and Green's been lucky to make the All Star ballot.
You're sadly mistaken, in fact you're comical in your analysis.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
