Hey Guys!
New to CB and it's my first post, so bear with me.
Here's my non-perfect, but still decent, offseason idea. I'd love to get Melo in addition to Love, but I think that's a pipe dream more than anything with Jackson in NY. Why not go after Afflalo in Orlando? They'll more than likely select Exum, which would make AA expendable in the backcourt with Oladipo. This would create a nice running team with great perimeter and interior defense to protect Love's defensive liabilities.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kwh42pe (Could easily be three separate trades, too, with some tweaking, but it works in the TM.)
Boston Out: Green, Bass, Sully, Anthony, Bogans, Pressey, Johnson
Boston In: Love, Brewer, Asik, Afflalo
Minnesota Out: Love, Brewer
Minnesota In: Green, Bass, Sully, Anthony, BOS 2014 #6, BRK 2016 1st, (If another pick was insisted on, I would give them the ability to switch and take the better pick between ours and theirs in 2015 or 2016)
Houston Out: Asik
Houston In: Bogans, Pressey, Johnson (All non-guaranteed for waiving for Melo) If they insisted on a pick, I would only offer up the 76ers conditional first rounder for 2015
Orlando Out: Afflalo
Orlando In: PP TPE, 2015 Clippers 1st
Why Boston does it: Gives RR another star, and it protects Love's defensive liabilities with an outstanding defensive starting five (minus Love). Also, it leaves enough room, money, and assets to bring in the necessary complementary pieces to support.
Biggest Question Mark: Does this core have enough offense between the trio of RR, KL, and AA to make up for the pure defensive abilities of CB and OA?
Why Minnesota does it: 2 expiring contracts in Bass/Anthony, loses a longer term bad contract in Brewer, a legitimate building block in Sully (poor man's KL), another (probable to possible) expiring contract in Green who is a solid player that can provide some highlight plays to draw in (some) fans, high lottery pick in loaded 2014 draft, a probable high lottery pick in 2016 when the failure of a franchise known as the Nets implodes, and a possible better pick by switching with our pick in 2015 or 2016. To me, this is as good of an offer as anyone else (sans GS offering up Klay) can make for Love, and hopefully we can exploit the Saunders/Ainge relationship!

Biggest Question Mark: Is this going to be the best offer for Love? Are the picks enticing enough, and is JG's inclusion a killer for this trade?
Why Houston does it: To make room for Melo by clearing Asik's poison pill contract and cutting all non-guaranteed players.
Biggest Question Mark: Will we have to cough up a pick for Asik, and is Lin going to have to be included with the deal?
Why Orlando does it: They get a pick in return for an expendable piece, and they get to develop their dynamic backcourt.
Biggest Question Mark: Will they receive a better package (young talent and a pick?) than ours?
This seems feasible to me. There are some question marks regarding the trade(s), but I think this core would be exactly what Tommy would want - a defensive-minded team built to run. What do you think?
