Okay, Danny is a freaking genuis for sure.

And bring in Love for Sully, Bogans, Anthony, other non-guaranteeds, picks, teddy bears....

Asik for Bass and a pick, or whatever.

Make it part of one deal to swing extras around to please everyone...S&T's as needed, etc.

We could trot out a lineup of Rondo/Green/Pierce/Deng/Love against Miami in the ECF, and win.

With Bradley and Asik also...prob Bayless as well.

i can't believe Pierce's name keeps coming up. Don't people understand how the aging process works with professional athletes? Please think younger when constructing our roster.

Are we talking about paying PP 10+M? Pass.

and that line up would be terrible.

You think Deng is going to accept around 5 million?

He already rejected around 10 million from the Bulls iirc.

I'd rather use the TE on Love with the pick, and use Sully and Fillers to take on any bad contracts to make the deal work.

I'm pretty sure unless PP is really made at us he'd take a Vet min, or the MLE to play one or two more seasons here.

I'd also rather use our resources for SG and a C. Go after Gortat, rather than Asik. I think he'd complement Love much better, and is a better defensive player, and MUCH better offensive.

And once again -- you can't do this, the CBA doesn't work this way.

The TE is about $10m and Love makes $15.7m, so that deal is impossible.

Deng will likely sign for more than $10m, so the TE won't be enough and the MLE is out of question.

If we trade for Love and add more talent, let's say Kevin Martin in the Love trade and Asik using the TE, then I think Pierce would love to come back on a reduced contract using the MLE.  One more chance to contend in Boston before retiring a Celtic.

You can't use a TPE to sign a free agent, it has to be used in another deal.

It could be used in a sign-and-trade, though.

What is the obsession with bringing back a geriatric Paul Pierce to play on the C's now??? I don't get it. Did anyone watch him play last year? He isn't very good and I don't see how you can justify playing him ahead of the young guys or any potential draft picks. I love Paul Pierce. But, that trade last summer was a a signal to move on. We should be thankful he accepted because those draft picks look like they might be gold in a few years. The only contract we should give Pierce now is a one day contract so he can sign and retire as a Celtic. That's it.

Lol as if we wouldn't have to include Bass in any Love deal... people don't care that Sully makes less than 2m per being picked 21st. If you get Love there is no players left for Asik and no picks except for years down the line with the amount we need to give for Love. If I'm Houston I roll with Asik over acquiring Hump if that's the thought (Hump ain't going to the Wolves, he could do better for himself). Are we sure Houston even wants Bass in the first place, how does he help them? I thought about it, wasn't Bass only an option for Houston because Asik was injured (also wanted out)? Houston can probably do better right now for Asik, he played well in the playoffs. Another thing I forgot, Clee was going to be a part of the deal, who do we have now? Bass doesn't get us Asik.

Yes, I'm against getting Love but even if I wasn't how exactly do we get him and someone else?

Oh, PP, he can come back for short money and a bench role... young players don't get you rings in this league and if we somehow get Love that means we aren't going for developing guys, that's the first part of a win now mode.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Correct, as long as it includes a only single player and a combination of picks.

I think the idea is to bring him back as a role player who can provide leadership and experience.  I'd only be interested if we get Love and are trying to contend. If we we go the rebuilding route for another season, then I agree we shouldn't take playing time away from the young guys.

PP for the MLE makes sense, as a bench guy and leader.  Otherwise, pass.

I could see Deng agree to a sign and trade for the TPE. Especially if we have Love and Asik deal done. We'd become a desirable destination for a lot of FA vets.  Similar to what happened once KG and Allen were added in '07.
