Starting to think MELO is the better fit at this point.

Think NY might realize reloading isn't a bad course of action with where they aren't going to be able to build around Melo if he resigns.

This scenario is of course only if they get the extension upfront.

Boston gets: Melo
NYK gets: Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Bogans   #6 this year and Boston's number 1 next year and perhaps Olynk if needed.

Melo has stated an interest in playing with Rondo and if we were able to get one more semi star we'd be in great shape.

Rondo, Melo, Sullinger is a decent starting point.

Resign Bradley and #17pick this year.  I'd like to trade up to around 13 and get someone like Stauskas, Harris or maybe McDermott if he slips.

Then get your Rim protecter.

That Team would be a top 5 team in the east next year for sure..

I'll brace myself for the backlash now?.

Well, first of all. Phil Jackson runs the Knicks and James Dolan owns them. Combine the two and you got a guy who'll never deal with us and a guy who doesn't know what his teams best interests are.

And I don't think that's a very good team with Rondo, Sully and Melo. At all.

I think Melo has become very underrated... Probably because he plays for a disaster of an organization also known as the NY Knicks.  Dolan is a complete idiot.

I have no idea if Jackson would deal with us, but I think we'd need to add another all star calibre player to entice Mello to sign here.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Think about it from the NYK point of view, while also factoring in what we know about the people running the superfund site (it really describes them well, I wonder why more people don't use it; superfund because of both the toxic environment and because of the bankroll) known as the Knicks.

Phil Jackson isn't long for the job. Yes, he'll be there for 5 or 6 years, but he wants 5 or 6 good years, not an actual reload that just sets up the next guy. James Dolan is prideful, petty, loyal, but to a fault.

What makes anyone think that they'll trade their one actual asset for anything other than a godfather offer makes me confused. Then, factor in that they'll face Boston and Melo 4 times a year, and watch us in the playoffs. Then factor in that any trade bringing in less than a superstar will get them crucified, maybe literally (the NY media is a boogeyman after all) by the city for further blaspheming their precious Knicks.

Then, knowing all that, there is only one way Melo leaves NY: if he wants to. And why would he want to go to a Boston team that would require a sign and trade that'll cut them of future assets?

I can believe Melo to Houston is a possibility. They can free up the cap space to sign him outright, especially if they're willing to move Parsons or future picks to convince Boston to take on Lin's salary. But Boston flat out can't acquire Melo. Not when the logistics of such above are considered, and the personalities involved factored in.

Gonna have to give up more picks and I'd take Kelly out (worth more than #17). That's if they would entertain us. I really hope we miss out on Love or Wolves wait until midseason to put him on the block.

I forgot to ask, everyone says we get Love with Sully and picks... doesn't Love make like 17m? Sully and Bass make what, 8m? Okay, Let's add Bogans for 5m. Then add on Joel?

So what else do we have to get anyone else? We pretty much have to trade our entire assets that we have in the near future.

Are we going to bank on Houston giving us Asik for cap space??? Didn't they turn down Bass and a pick or something close? I find it hard to believe we didn't offer cap space last deadline.

So now we have a team of RR, AB, Green, KO, and Love... who's on the bench? We can't afford Hump and Houston would keep Asik over Hump all day.

It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Melo will be a better fit for our team. Let's offer Jeff Green, Bass, Humph, Anthony, Bogans & next year pics. Then bring back Colton Iverson, draft Aaron Gordon & TJ Warren, resign Avery. We'll make the playoffs next year for sure.

We have the draft picks and assets to get both Love, MELO, & Asik.  It's up to Danny to figure it all out and make it happen.

Melo is hungry now and doesn't give a crap anymore he just wants to win.   He's growing up and scored 27 a game last year with a ridiculous PER

I'm not a fan of PER, but if you are, I hope you realize that Kevin Love had a higher PER than Carmelo Anthony.

As far as power forwards go (and Melo should be playing PF), I think Love is a better fit next to Rondo because he can make up for Rondo's deficiency in three-point shooting.

Too bad the Knick's play does not reflect that to be true.

BTW,  I have a undersea City I will sell you for $500 and the moon is really mad of cheese.

Give me either Melo or Love, and I am a happy camper.

Any chance we can get both?  :P

Very cute..

Melo isn't without flaws, but he can be had for less than Love

BTW: His supporting cast on the knicks was as bad as the supporting cast on ALF

Love has the Celtic work ethic and attitude. From the get go.....a little like KG ...giving 110 percent even on a sucky team.

CA is a great player and fun to watch to a certain point. .....and has certainly not been on my list of players I'd want on the Celtic in years past.....BUT.....I've seen hope and progress in his attitude

I do think he is finally coming around or at least trying to be a TRUE team player.and really cares.

So ....I want Love first.......but wouldn't totally be opposed to Carmelo joining the Celtics now.

I think Carmelo gets it now

^^^Glad you're changing your tunes about him.  He is indeed a great player.  I want both Love and Melo

For a guy that was acting with a puppet, I thought the guy that played the dad did a pretty good job.   ;)

Anyway, I can't believe NYK couldn't at least put good role players together, like the old Cavs or something.
