Which shooting guard realistically, would you prefer on the Celtics?

A 'closer,' or a shooting guard is our next desired need next to the 5, or a rim protector. Considering our question marks about Bradley's take on whether or not, he would re-sign with the Celtics hasn't been disclosed, and hes looking to possibly try the free agency.

Who could we realistically grab, or someone that you think we could obtain, that could be our SG next year?

I would like Waiters or Martin. At least Waiters has some potential, and Martin could be a nice 3 pt shooter for the Celtics.

I like Afflalo, but I go with Waiters here because I think he has upside as a closer / elite bench scorer and he doesn't have the health or age concerns Id have with Gordon and Martin.  Also he's young enough that maybe he can still be taught to play team defense.

I wonder if the Cavs would trade Waiters for Bradley.  Bradley might be a better fit next to Irving since he tends to play off the ball.  Plus, Waiters and Irving supposedly don't get along.

Yeah I picked Waiters.

I don't see why everyone is so picky about his defense. His college was Syracuse, and its one of the worst programs at developing the need for good defense.

What kind of trade could you see happening for Waiters?

Chose Martin since if Celtics go for championship now with Rondo/Love/Asik/Green then they would be okay with a 31 yr. old experience SG who is 6'7", 19 pts/gm, 40% 2 pt shooter and has the second-best true shooting percentage of any active shooting guard who has played in over 250 regular season games.  Most importantly, the Celts have a realistic chance of obtaining him and may even help the trade for Love.  If Minny trades love they would look to go young and Bradley is a perfect S&T with Martin salary at only $6.5m. I like Afflalo best as a player (combo of offense and defense) but would likely cost more both in trade and salary.

Problem is that the Celtics even with Love desperately lack a closer type player, and Martin can barely stay on the floor at the end of close games because he doesn't play defense.  If the plan is to go with Love, Afflalo makes the most sense.

  Maybe 1, as long as it's fairly late in the draft. Anything more's probably an overpay.

Afflalo or Martin if were contending. Waitors if we trade rondo for assets and it's clear we're rebuilding. I don't want waitors and rondo on the same team. Too ball dominant. If we keep rondo and aren't contending then any of those guys would be fine especially Gordon if healthy. I like James young out of Kentucky if we draft.

Gordon Hayward is my first choice but I have no idea how that would happen. If not that I would be fine with some combination of bringing Avery Bradley back and drafting either smart, Harris, Staukas or Hood.

Afflalo the most balanced player, most ready-to-go, and fills the spot perfectly.  He's definitely not the first guy I go after, since I'm skeptical of his numbers on that messed-up Orlando squad, but is a nice player.  Not special, but nice.

Marcus Smart. Probably will be available to is easily and has the highest ceiling, IMO.

Afflalo.  Big fan of his back to the early Detroit/Denver days.  Very solid all-around player and the best of the SGs listed here.
