This is your official non-Love, non-Sterling, non-draft thread of the day.
Fresh off his Chinese Basketball Association MVP season, ex-Celtic Lester Hudson reportedly
has some workouts scheduled with several teams. His 13-game stint in Cleveland, where he scored 12.7 points in 24.2 minutes per game suggests he can provide some scoring punch off the bench, but perhaps not that efficiently.
However, with a free agent SG class headed by Lance Stephenson and Avery Bradley (assuming Dirty DWade doesn't exercise his ETO) with guys like Evan Turner, Nick Young, and Jodie Meeks on the next tier, Hudson may have an opportunity to go somewhere where he has a better shot at earning a starting job. (Given that the Pacers are one of the teams looking at Hudson, that could be taken as evidence they may not want Turner back at any price.)
It probably won't make sense to sign Hudson, but Ainge should probably do his due diligence and kick the tires in case he makes the sort of moves where he might need to sign players like Hudson for relatively cheap to construct a bench.
