Lets say we land Love. We got Rondo, Love and ______. Who do you guys see the C's having a legitimate shot at to finish out the big 3?

I would love to trade for Beal or Maybe keep our 17 and develop that player (TJ Warren? Stauskas?) We need a crafty clutch scorer. (I wish we could have young PP again :( )

So who do you guys see being the third member of the big 3?

Asik as DPOY.

Beal isn't going to be traded from the Wizards, so dreams of acquiring him is all just a dream.

I think with Rondo/Love, you're looking to compete now or as soon as possible.

It depends on what the Celtics are offering, and looking for.

I would love Kawhi Leonard. I think under the right role, Leonard/Love/Rondo is a well rounded Big 3, that has two great defenders, great shooters, and rebounders for their position.

The Spurs probably value Leonard more than the Wizards value Beal.

Yeah. That was the question and problem I posted in my thread about who could be our 2nd go to guy, or go to scorer in the clutch.

Beal/Leonard isn't leaving any time soon.

I guess it all boils down to what the Cavs feel about Waiters.

I know its crazy, but honestly there isn't any other go to scorers that can be traded without the possible risk of injuries, like Gordon, and the chances of us going after Stephenson seem slim to none.

Klay Thompson isn't leaving, and with new management in place, I can see Gasol staying especially with the success they had in the playoffs.

See,  they way this lotto rigged and us getting the 6th I don't see Love as a possibility now.   I'm starting to think they may have to consider going the other way and trading Rondo for an early pick.

Ummm, and why not?

8 picks in the future... Plenty of cap space/relief... Sully can at least be worth something...

What is the huge difference between 5, and 6? You still got Vonleh/Smart/Randle on board..

If Parker, Wiggins, Embiid, Exum are drafted, you got at least three prospects with the potential to be franchise or Allstars...

Marc Gasol sign him as a free agent in the 2015 offseason.

(PG) Rondo
(G) fill-n
(SF) fill-in
(PF) Kevin Love
(C) Marc Gasol

That's close to champion material right there.

Can you ever get Love while keeping 6?

The only problem I see that is Gasol is going to re-sign with the Grizzlies, or look to try to play with his brother.

A few users said we could get Love without the 6th pick, but I just don't see it...

Why would the Wolves trade Love for anything less than a lottery pick, which they could easily get from the Lakers/Cavs? The Nets are a sure fire lottery pick, but there is no guarantee, and its also in the future. The Wolves would have to pretty much be patient, instead of acquiring a high rated prospect in this loaded draft, for next year, which I just don't see them doing with the Nets pick.

I just don't see Ainge and Saunders coming to an agreement on the value of Kevin Love.   Ainge   won't overpay  and Saunders will be looking for much more (like much much more) than the 6th pick.   I just don't think Ainge will think it's a fair price.

The Celtics were rumored to get the top 3, but all the talk that has been circulating on the rumors of acquiring Love from the Celtics were stemmed around the 5-8th pick. The analysts and reporters knew the Celtics had a very low chance of getting the top 3, so most of the discussion is centered around the 5th-6th pick.

At the 5th/6th you still have a great prospect that is sure to be an Allstar.

Sullinger is also a great asset, while he isn't exactly the best athletic player, but his skill set and moves are similar to Love's.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
First I'd go after Asik, then I'd go after Lance Stephenson or Aaron Afflao.
I'd try and draft someone at the SF spot behind Green and try and coach him up slowly if we can't get rid of Green, but I'd hope we dump Green with Wallace if we take back something like Love/ Martin.
Start with a core of
Rondo
Lance
Green/rookie
Love
Asik

And work towards acquiring an All Star wing. Unfortunately we may have to keep Green as  the 3rd or 4th fiddle and we probably have a ceiling of the ECF with K Mart and a rookie+ Olynk off the bench.

The only third star that fits the scoring need we would have is Carmelo Anthony. Dunno if we could afford all that.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

If we acquire Melo, its only under 3 circumstantial things.

1) We somehow gain immediate cap space flexibility, or the Knicks take on Gerald Wallace.

2) We overpay with picks.

3) Melo demands a trade to BOS during the 2015-2016 season.
