If we hit 8 you can all freak out but there is little difference in picks 5/6/7 Vonleh, Randle, Gordon, Smart will all be going in that range so you can take your pick. We also have yet to hear what the Timberwolves want for Love. Certainly we would have to give Min. more picks for Love if we fell back but I dont think going from number 5 to number 6 kills our chances. It just makes it harder.

If we fall to 8, which has less than half a percent chance of happening, we're grabbing Gordon, Vonleh or McDermott or trading it.  That is almost exactly what will happen if we draft 5th too, unless Exum, Embiid or Parker fall to us there.  Top 3 would be HUGE but let's see.  Even if we get that, we might trade it immediately anyways.

I would agree

If you're like me and hoping the Celts get Love, I don't think not landing a top 3 pick hinders the Celts chances of making a trade with Minnesota.

It is never easy road for Boston.  We do things the old fashioned way. , we earn it......unlike Lakers spoiled fans .....easy to be a Laker fan when you always get the best.

I'm setting my min. Goal at getting Smart, Randle , Vonleh or Gordon with an 8 th pic.......all nice players and likely to do well in the NBA .

Anything better is luck and gravy for this old fan.

If the Celtics drop back to #6 or #7, it will be fun at some point in the future to point and laugh at the people who said the Celtics have to have a top five pick to contend.

I will only freak out if we do not get a top 3 AND the Lakers do. That is the only scenario that will keep me up all night tonight.

Let's win us a lottery tonight!

Every single year, there are busts in the top 5, and every single year, there are sleepers who vastly outperform their draft position. No need to freak out.

That said, I'd love to get into the top 3 like everyone else.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Ainge screwed the Celtics. We are going to witness that at 8 tonight. Should have followed the Sixers model.

Get your popcorn ready then. Ainge should be fired for screwing up this teams future with a draft full of superstars in the making. Only to have the Celtics actually try to play hard and keep scrubs like Bass Hump Bayless and keep a great role player in Rondo.

You are so negative. Please stop posting until after the lottery. Your pessimism makes me sick. I need good vibes right now

It's going to be a hard choice if DA picks .....5-8 th

The chances are Much greater that somebody , he could have chosen turns out to be the steal of the draft is overlooked and turns out a stud

Hate to be in DA shoes... He really is guessing too at the end of the day.

He took Fab Melo.... :(."......ugh.......now I'm really getting nervous... :)

It's a win-win.  Either the Celtics win the lottery or you can rejoice in the tears of cb8883 and others with similarly negative outlooks.
