-Playing for a new, young coach like Brad Stevens could be exactly what Love is looking for rather than an old-fashioned coach like he had in Minny with Rick Adleman.

-The East is so inferior to the West. Love looks at the East and says to himself, "sans Lebron, I could become the face of the Eastern Conference."

-Chance to be the next great Celtic. Most may brush this aside, but I think this could end up being a factor in Love's decision making.  From the Celtics legacy including the17 banners to all the great players who have come through Boston, maybe Love looks at that says "I want to be the next great Celtic."

-The parallels to KG: Admittedly, I am a sucker for the narrative and maybe at the very least, Love looks at what happened with KG back in 2007. An all-star player, dealt from a struggling team in the loaded West to a team in the weaker East and achieves much greater success as a result of the move.

Rick Adelman: old fashioned X's and O's coach...
 :o
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I meant to say, instead of playing for an old fashioned coach, maybe playing for a fresh face like Stevens is what Love is looking for.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.

If the rumors are true that he wants to play for a winner, he probably will have little interest in coming here. We had a 16 win pace with Rondo playing.  It would only be marginally better than playing with Rubio.  Boston would need to make more moves for this to be an appealing destination.

Maybe Kevin Love is aware that Rajon Rondo played in 30 meaningless games while rehabbing from knee surgery in a season that was already for all intents and purposes lost by the time he returned.

He might realize that Rondo has a much larger body of work than those 30 games.

I think the East has to be somewhat tempting for Love.  Just by the number of wins, the Wolves would have been a playoff team in the East.  When you adjust for strength of schedule (playing crappy East teams more than West teams), it's quite possible that the Wolves could have won 50 games and been the 3 seed in the East.

I don't think it's a stretch to think that a Rondo/Love combination with even just a surrounding cast of Bradley, Green, and Asik could do that.  And that's not even factoring in the possibility that Kevin Martin gets included in an expanded Minny deal, that PP could return at the MLE, or who the C's land at 17.

Granted, a #3 seed in the East would be somewhat of fool's gold, but a top 3 seed and a potential trip to the second round of the playoffs and perhaps beyond would have to be intriguing to Love.

I don't think Love leaving Minnesota is just roster based. I mean that's a big part of the issue, but overall he doesn't trust management or ownership in Minnesota to improve the roster.

Selling Love on the future and on the GM/Owner is what has to be done.

I think the parrellels to KG could be big.

Ainge can sell him on wanting to build a contender immediately and has a proven track record of doing that recently and the owners spending the money.

Could sell him on some possibilities with the amount of assets we have.

And being in the East with Rondo already jumps you into the playoffs

Trouble KG was a great defender, Love is not.  Think about that non parallel.

Unfortunately, I think Chicago has just as much appeal, if not more.

1) Coaching: Thibs is well respected around the league
2) The East
3) Bulls "mystique" thanks to Jordan is more recent and probably more meaningful to a younger player like Love, who has also confessed he doesn't know much about Boston
4) Bulls are much closer to contention than the Celtics are

I imagine we can conjecture a number of reasons "why" for any number of teams.

Not really.  You aren't starting a conversation with 'Sota around the #15 pick and Jared Sullinger.  Need that top 8 pick to get out foot in the door

Exactly, and that's why I don't think Chicago had much of a chance at Love. It comes down to the celtics and the lakers, and tonight will give one of the two teams an advantage

I'm starting the conversation with their choice of Sullinger or Olynyk and 2-3 firsts in the hopes that the Celtics can keep their own 2014 pick.  What other team is going to beat that offer?
