i'm sooo sick of hearing josh smith being recommended...what's the obsession?

People over-rating athleticism.

That just might be the worst free throw shooting team in the history of starting units in NBA history.

Rondo 63%
Bradley 80%
Smith 53%
Love 83%
Asik 61%

Yikes!!!!

It could be worse.  You could have Andre Drummond instead of Asik.

Imagine a team of :
Rajon Rondo 62.7%
Dion Waiters 68.5%
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 61.4%
Josh Smith 62.3%
Andre Drummond 41.8%

Once again, that is Rajon Rondo and four guys that I have seen different people in this forum advocate trading for.

I'll gladly take that. Trade MKG for a scoring wing.  ;)

That's not as bad as the current Detroit Pistons!!

Jennings - 75%
KCP - 77%
Smith - 53%
Monroe - 66%
Drummond - 42%

There's just way too much risk without the much reward. Smith's contract is way too much of an albatross to gamble on him being a successful SF.

The only way I'd even consider it is if the C's were committed to playing small ball a decent portion of the time with Love/Smith at the 4/5 whenever the starting center game out of the game. But that has it's risks too and doesn't help the SF situation when Smith slides up.

If we were lucky enough to land Love (and especially if we get Asik too), I'd much rather keep Green and try to sign PP at the MLE. That would likely yield far better results at the SF spot and have much less risk.

Green is a much better complementary fit at SF for a Love-Asik frontline than is Josh Smith.

Yup. I don't want smith at SF.

I like athleticism too. but this guy is hyped by Celtic fans like no other. I agree he may have been a good player to go along with KG but that's about it. let's move on.

maybe but I think you might just be still caught up in the idea that green is still this potential something or other. when he's actually just an inconsistent scorer...for no reason other than his own.

That may be true about Jeff Green but i think if we get Love while keeping Jeff Green he could grow into the elite second or third scoring option he is payed to be rather than having all the scoring pressure on his shoulders as he did this year..

Smith is a joke.   Yeah, he has jaw dropping athletic ability.   But he is not efficient and has poor shot selection.

seriously no. he was/is good for a team that we had last yr. coming off the bench no expectations, no pressure, just a bunch of vets force feeding him the ball.

everyone seems to think "this is the yr.", "this is the better situation", "these are the right players around him"....he's in his 7th yr. he is what he is an inconsistent scorer, for no reason other than his own.
