Now the owner of the Twolves came out and said no deal before the draft? This is gonna get interesting.

not surprising, that's when most big deals go down . KG and PP were traded on draft night last year I believe.

Well, of course.  The parameters of a deal can all be in place, but unless the C's have the #1 overall pick (in which case they aren't trading), there's going to be a question about whether the Wolves' guy will still be on the board.

i think boston gets involved in a three way deal and helps love get to houston.  houston winds up with love and rondo.  not sure of all of the specifics because of cap space and salaries, though.

unless Houston is giving Minny Howard and the C's Harden, there is no chance in hell this happens.  The C's want to make some big moves, trading Rondo for garbage isn't what they have in mind.

There is almost nothing Houston or Minnesota could offer us that would make me ok with building a contender for Houston. If that happens I want everybody. I want Parsons. I want Asik. I want Rubio. I want Pek. I want Wallace gone.

Even then, I'm still a little bit sour.

Yeah - Houston does not have the assets to please Minnesota and Boston simultaneously in that trade.

Don't see how this is realistic.

I want nothing to do with helping facilitate a trade where Love ends up somewhere else other than Boston.

This is true -- they broke the news while the draft was happening.

The question I have on a Love deal is...  what would be required in addition to the lotto pick?  Would Minny be demanding KO or Sully as well?  Or, would it be expiring picks, the lotto pick, and maybe one of the future Nets picks?

Just wondering how much ammo we might still have.  You'd need to bring in someone like Asik to defend the interior.  You'd like to have enough in remaining trade assets (including Sully or KO) to upgrade the wing scoring.

Most of that will depend on what happens tomorrow.  The location of the lotto pick will be huge & will save or cost you depending on where the ball bounces.

Regardless of where the pick is, Minny is going to ask for at least either KO or Sully in addition to at least one more pick.

That's the speculation but that's all it is.  If the pick comes out as #1, who knows what they won't or will ask for.  Pretty tough to speculate.

The assumption is that they are not complete morons.  Only a moron wouldn't ask for the Celtics top pick.  Whether they expect to get it or are willing to settle for less is a different story.

Does anyone else think it's pretty amazing that a year after blowing up our core, we are (a) in possession of enough assets to trade for a legit MVP candidate without surrendering our best player, and (b) viewed as an attractive destination for that player?

Regardless of what happens, I think you have to give Ainge tons of credit for putting us in this situation.
