I didn't think Exum scored that amazing on the physical tests at the combine? That was the impression I got from the chatter, good numbers but not eye popping ones"

Of course if you're a 6'6" PG its all relative.
His numbers were good, but not mindblowing. His agility test stood out though.

What confuses me is how a point guard, in his prime, averaged 21 points a game, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals while shooting over 50% from the field while being a second option.

That's a big deal

Exum doesn't play against high schoolers, he plays in the Australian pro league.  It's on par with China's, but decidedly below The NBA, Italy, Spain, The Adriatic League and France

Sure looks like high school ball from the limited video I have seen and admittedly that's not a lot of video but I think that's by design by his agent, which should scare the ever living crap out of people.

I don't think so. What would be the purpose of his agent leaking better game film to the public? We all know Exum's been scouted in person by all sorts of GM's in possession of what could be high lottery picks. That says more, to me, than the fact that youtube is lacking in Adriatic league footage.

I went and looked it up and you're totally right.  I was thinking that the Australian national team is good, so ipso facto their league must be passable.  That is not the case.

Here is granted not the most unimpeachable source, but it's from a site trying to give advice to basketball players that are looking to join a league abroad.  It ranks the top 25 leagues in the world (sans the NCAA, which would probably be like 10th on here) and Australia is 25th.

http://iballunited.blogspot.com/2013/01/iball-uniteds-2013-top-25-mens.html

It makes Saric and Nurkic look better, at least.  Saric is the regular season MVP and the finals MVP simultaneously of the 9th best bball league in the world at 19.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to try out for the Australian National Basketball League

I think GMs scouting what is a public media sensation of a high pick is due diligence, not necessarily telling of how good the kid is. There's little to no film so they have to go out and scout him. His agent keeping him and his game under wraps, to me, says he is hiding something and playing a media game to increase the kids draft potential. Proof is in the pudding.

Look at posters here. So many had the kid being a physical freak of a player. Turns out there's nothing freaky about his physicality judging from his draft combine measurables, or at least no more than other tall PGs.

If he starts to drop in the first round, maybe its because teams did do their due diligence and just saw a tall kid playing PG and not the phenom he has been built up to be by many in the draftnik community.

On the other hand, he could be a stud. Still, what his agent is doing in handling him scares me. Seems he is hiding something.

I have watched a few interviews with Gordon and some vids of the other guys who showed up af combine and I came to the conclusion that of all of them, Gordon seems to fit with the guys Danny has picked over the seasons I have been a fan (except Fab and you see how that turned out). Danny seems to like guys who are good at giving interviews and guys who have excellent basketball minds. I couldn't listen to some of these guys talk, it was like nails on a blackboard. There were very few that I could listen to for a long period of time. I get they are young but i dont want to hear them after every game talking about their rookie season and force myself to make out what they are saying. His interviews aren't the only thing that are similar to past selections, his work ethic, energy, IQ, and being able to play multiple positions are part of it too.

Not saying this is Danny's pick outside top 3 but he fits the mold to me.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Not me. I don't see the attraction. A great defender with a limited offensive game, and this team needs offense.

We need everything.  We need defense, a guy that can play above the rim. Stevens like players like Gordon also

You get Parker and yeah the offense is slightly better but our defense suffers.

If Gordon has improved his jump shot as he has said, he is our guy.  I hope the celts work him out and give him a promise if they really like him. A little worried the Jazz might think about taking him. That team really needs scoring help though so prob not

Swing for the fences... Take Lavine, he actually has top 3 potential.  Although he is very very far from reaching his potential

McDermott fits that same mold. Rather McDermott than Gordon.

My real preference is to trade the pick.

I think Utah takes Randle, moves Favors to center full time and tries to find a taker for Enes Kanter.
