I'm excited about Marcus Smart though

Yeah, Smart's my guy at 6. I do want him at PG though. I think he'll be able to cause more mismatches against smaller PG's and he can take advantage of his size. Conversely, I question how effective he'll be playing off the ball due largely in part to his, still a work in progress, jumpshot.

Stauskas is my choice for #17, but I seriously doubt he'll be there. I'm hoping we can do a trade and move him, like we did last year with Dallas, in order to grab him.

That is one excellent backcourt of the future and I think they'll complement each other perfectly.

I think we can play him at the 2 with Rondo. AB and Smart are the exact same height, but Smart seriously out-bulks Bradley and has a considerably longer wingspan. I've mentioned this before, I know but he has much better guard skills as well. Probably takes as many I'll-advised shots as AB, though so that's nearly a wash if you don't factor in the fact Smart is actually proficient near the rim, where AB is anemic.

Smart also favorited a tweet of mine talking about Boston drafting him, so he gets bonus points as well. Hopefully Utah doesn't snatch him and we give him a promise so he doesn't workout for them.

That's my hope for Smart too- hopefully he can become what we wanted Avery to be, an athlete with the ball skills to become an All Star.
Killer instincts and a need to win and play hard.

Vonleh at 18 years old has an enormous ceiling too, if be happy with either.

The fact he liked your tweet is awesome too.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

CFAN, looks like Bryce Cotton will also be in town. But the June 3rd workout will be stacked!

Celtics to work out two interesting big men next week - Kelly Olynyk (Gonzaga) and Brazilian Lucas Nogueira. Both possible lottery picks.

CFAN, do you have data to write a retrospective list of recent players drafted by the Celtics that had confirmed workouts with the team? I clearly remember Avery Bradley, JaJuan Johnson, Fab Melo and Kelly Olynyk all worked out before being selected. But I can't remember anyone else.

I know Pressey worked out last year (not that he was picked, but the Celtics moved on him instantly after the draft inviting him to Orlando).  Sullinger may not have, because his workouts were limited due to injury.  I'm sure they got a good look at his medical records though, which was more important than anything else.

The player I distinctly remember they didn't work out is Gerald Green.  He wasn't expected to fall that far in the draft, and was picked a bit more blindly.
