I know many of you have your questions about Sherrod, but felt like sharing this tweet from a few moments ago:

@SherrodbCSN  6m
The #Celtics are "really big" on Exum, a league source said. #Celticstalk

Thoughts?

Either a smokescreen from Ainge, or it's legit interest.

The same goes for any other Celtics-related rumor you hear between now and Draft Night.

You're welcome.  ;)

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I hope it's true - I like the potential that Exum offers and the league is in need of young stars at the sg position. I know that people think it would be impossible to trade into the top 3 for one of the obvious choices, but if we land at 5 or 6, I wonder what it would take to move up to 4. Would we even have to?

Might as well be ......

He could be picked , and traded to another team other assets

Chances are prettying good it will be Exum , Randle , Vonleh or Gordon to choose from when DA picks.

Maybe he takes Exum and trades Rondo for Asik and Parsons......

Smart and Exum are the biggest question marks for me ......either they will be stars or future jokes to sling mud at.

When a team needs a center as bad as the Celtics .....I'd go with the best available big , either Vonleh or a European big man.

Jackie Mac said the same thing about The C's interest in Exum a month ago.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Also been reported we were high on Parker and then was also report Wiggins was on the top of our draft board. Won't believe until I see him on the podium shaking Silver's hand with a Celtics hat on.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

So I guess that means we want Embiid.  ;)

I would be happy with: Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Gordon, Vonleh or Saric with our first pick.  They would all be our first or second best player within two years, so I'm kind of done being choosy.  I would even be okay with Randle, assuming we could get something worthwhile back for Sully

We should, apparently he's the next Hakeem.

Jackie Mac said the same thing about The C's interest in Exum a month ago.

She also said they liked Randle, which I really doubt.

I guess the interest depends on the pick.
if we get pick 1-3 then that's pretty obvious...
if we get 4 or higher and you know you the top three are off the board, than you are highly interested in other prospects.

I remember Jackie mentioning the Celtic interest in Exum. But when she brought up Randle, I though that was just her saying that he looks really good, and there was no Celtic connection.

Also on the trade machine, I saw it draw 1.) Bucks - 2.) us - 3.) Magic/Lakers - 4.) 76ers with one of the Magic in the 3 and one of the Lakers in the 3.  The order went Wiggins / Embiid / Exum / Parker both times

Since we can't get the 4th pick, I think the chance to get Exum is slight.

Wiggins/Embiid/Parker seem to be the consensus top three with Exum the consensus #4.

A lot of things can change between now and the draft, but they haven't changed much in the top 4 for the past three months.

Would love to get Exum. Saw another mock where we took Zach LaVine. Talk about a backcourt of the future.

Exum and LaVine together would be very entertaining.

If we stay at 5 I really hope we get Exum or Vonleh. We either are top 3 or 5 to 8. The 4th pick is not an option for us according to the draft rules.

I think we have a great chance to get Exum. Why? His agents are already trying to dictate where he is going to play. If the draft stands pat and Embiid is healthy you have to figure that Wiggins, Parker and Embiid go 1-2-3 in some order. Then if Utah is at 4 I bet Exum's people tell the Jazz he wont play there. Then we are free to snag him. I am sure he will not object to being a Celtic. The risk is if the Lakers get ahead of us. They really want him and of course he will want to play there.I have a sick feeling they will. NBA conspiracies and all.....
