Yes, the amnesty clause was designed to screw the Celtics and other teams that didn't sign players to terrible deals.

Can someone clarify if it is possible for us to trade for someone who is Amnesty eligible then use it?

Eg. Trade for Boozer then Celtics Amnesty

Fun Fact: There are only 10 NBA players across 6 different teams who can be amnestied this offseason. The only Celtics player who can be amnestied is Rajon Rondo. The only 2 realistic players in the entire NBA who could get amnestied this year are Kendrick Perkins and Carlos Boozer. The other NBA players who can be amnestied are Al Horford, Joakim Noah, Mike Conley, Zach Randolph, Nick Collison, Kevin Durant, and Tony Parker.

Good info... I see the only candidate as being Carlos Boozer. I don't think the Thunder organization would amnesty Perk... I guess my thoughts on that could change depending on where they end up in the playoffs and what moves they make to their roster in the offseason because of it.
