Yes Biyombo would also be an excellent addition...

Biyombo is another 6'9" "bigman"

Sure he can block shots, but that's all he does. He's good with timing. And most if not all of his blocks are coming from the weak side helping on the driver. Which is impressive. But Steimsma could do that too.

I think we need someone who actually defends the paint. Someone who will make the offensive players think twice about driving to the basket.

And I don't know about you but I'm tired of undersized power forwards and centers.

We've got a plethora of those.
I like Biyombo. If he develops an offensive game he could be very intriguing. He isn't a center though. He gets away with it due to his ridiculous 7'7" wingspan.

My realistic list of possible off-season centers

1. Embiid, need to get lucky in lottery but health with standing Embiid, Sully and KO could be the 4-5 rotation for a long time

2. Asik, even if embiid is drafted my gut feeling is there is already a draft day deal in place.

3. Sanders, high risk / high reward player could make a Deandre Jordan like jump in production on the right team. Could also just be an addition to Aftroman's Song " But I GOT HIGH".

4. Biyombo, the potential is there and has been defensively productive in limited minutes. Those who look at him as only 6'9, he has a huge wingspan and standing reach. His physical profile is similar to Ben Wallace.

My preferred list of centers to go after:
1. Embiid
2. Hibbert
3. Monroe
4. Asik
5. Gortat
6. Vonleh

MAKE IT HAPPEN DANNY!!

Out of your list I dont think Hibbert or Gortat will be available for the Cs. Pacers wont trade Hibbert and Wizz wont let Gortat get away.

Monroe and Vonleh (baring another growth spurt) are not rim protectors. Much like Sully and KO they are both big 4s who can give you backup minutes at center but will not excel defensively at the position.

I'm with you. I mean, maybe Biyombo would be good, but he'd be the rare "Ben Wallace type" exception. I'm tired of small bigs. How did the Lakers win twice in three years? Two reasons: 1) Kobe 2) Having three legit 7-footers (well, and 3) KG was hurt).

So, Jason Smith can protect the rim. That's one thing we are looking for in a Center right?

Another interesting trade idea for a center (if we dont get Embiid) would be Hump for Perk and one of OKCs  first rounders this year in a sign and trade... Hump wouldnt mind cuz he seems to be interested in competing for a championship again while Boston gets a first rounder as well as a defensive minded big man for someone who we probably wouldnt have retained... Perk is also a great lockerroom guy and has great chemistry with Rondo which could perhaps convince Rondo to resign...

How often has acquiring a star's buddy induced the star to re-sign with his current team?

Its def possible as their bond was so close and Rondo seems inclined towards resigning anyway... Could be that final push to convince him... If getting Perk makes Rondo resign then this deal would definitely be worth it...

How about moving up from #17 to take jusuf nurkic around 10-13? check out this writeup on him... you'll be shocked how good his stats are. http://deanondraft.com/2014/02/19/jusuf-nurkic-the-bosnian-boogie/

Getting Jusuf Nurkuc would be an excellent trade im just not too sure that any of the teams ahead of us are necessarily looking to trade down... But worth a shot i guess..
