Sanders is too much of a pain and i have a feeling he'll always clash with rondo..

If we can draft Embiid then sign/ trade for a number 1 option on wing.
If we miss on embiid but draft a 1st option wing then trade for Asik.
If we end up with Gordon (great d) then trade for Monroe (good o)

To me it's all about fitting the right pieces together.

Just a hunch, I think Asik's coming no matter who we draft

Only centers I like on that list are Asik and Embiid and they don't even embody the type of center this player needs. Ironically Big Al would've been great for this Celtics team; a HUGE offensive threat who commands doubles that can allow Rondo to drive, Jeff Green to flourish, and Sullinger to play D and rebound.

This current Celtics team isn't very good..at all. It's amazing how Coach Stevens willed them to win as much as they did with as little as they had. I wouldn't keep more than eight members of the current roster long term. Not enough players on the current team that can draw defenders or score quite frankly.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I'd like a Lopez or a Gasol but that's not likely to happen.

He's certainly not the answer but I'd jump on the wagon as a supporter for him as our back up C.

That is an excellent list but I would remove Gortat and Monroe (not rim defenders) and add Sanders and maybe Biyombo.

Yes Biyombo would also be an excellent addition...

Biyombo is another 6'9" "bigman"

Sure he can block shots, but that's all he does. He's good with timing. And most if not all of his blocks are coming from the weak side helping on the driver. Which is impressive. But Steimsma could do that too.

I think we need someone who actually defends the paint. Someone who will make the offensive players think twice about driving to the basket.

And I don't know about you but I'm tired of undersized power forwards and centers.

We've got a plethora of those.

I consider Gortat a rim defender: He averaged 1.5 bpg this season, and that's also his average over the last three seasons combined, whereas Asik's career-best average (two seasons ago) is only 1.1, and this season was only 0.8.

He's indeed not the final answer. But he could be part of the solution. He's been decent as a starter. And he'll be an excellent third big.

Why not?
