Quote
Parsons said he's spoken to Rivers extensively this week and intends to lean on him to make basketball decisions for the franchise moving forward. Rivers also holds the title of senior vice president of player personnel.

"Here's what I spoke to Doc about," Parsons said in an interview with ESPN. "When he went out there, as he put it to me, one of the factors was that the then-management said, 'We don't know that much about basketball. You come, you run the basketball operations, we'll run the business.'

Man..
an episode that made the guy look almost human and dare i say slightly tarnished fighting through a headwind and making Wyc's head almost explode

Looks like it was worth it.

I'm not into conspiracy's but...  ;)

He went to the Clippers because he wanted to have control of what players he trades for and drafts, aside from saying he may have lost his voice in the celtics locker room. This quote reaffirms that the new CEO of the Clippers is going to stick with what Doc wanted when he signed up.

What's your point here?

Doc got his guys in Boston. Who did Doc want that Danny and Wyc blocked?
Looks like Doc helped kill the O.J. Mayo trade at the behest of the locker room.
Looks like Doc
was talking with the Clips within hours of the Celts being eliminated and S.A.S rumor broke 2 days later
Looks like Doc was behind Bledsoe being removed as trade chip. Used later to get his man
Looks like after communicating with SAS he goes onto the show and is neither asked or addresses the rumor about him leaving the Celts...while sitting in front of the guy who broke the crazy rumor in the first place ???
Looks like he not only did not answer his phone (claimed he was doing his annual shutdown mode)  somebody was talking to the Clippers
Looks Like he made the Celts so un comfortable after the SAS interview they called a meeting and whatever was said they felt the need to immediately send a letter confirming their expectation that he fullfill his contract (said he's sure he got the letter he just never opened it...from the folks paying him millions)<<<Anybody believe that??? Anyone??

Looks like a story about Rondo and him having a confrontation was when the situation went past the point of return....and turns out tit happened 2 years earlier and we already knew about it.

Looks like Doc went on WEEI and told a buncha crap that Danny refuted and Wyc stated without doubt the ENTIRE situation was begun by Doc. End of Story. He looked like ...as mad as Danny looked stunned in their first interviews post Doc debacle. Which went on while we were getting ready for a draft.
Such a spectacle was it it forced the Commish to berate both parties and kill most of it and anything else for a year.

Absolute festival of the bizzare.

Looks like that.

Looks like after Sterling ...just before first deal was about done said he never authorized a 1st for Doc and Danny calls a second Doc presser ...the Rondo story that was 2 years old "broke" and was implied as the reason Doc wanted out.....before the 1st presser.
Danny had to do the tango with a nut job (Sterling) because of a guy he thought was on board wasn't and he had a draft coming.

Doc had no idea about Sterling? League wide known racist and lunatic? Really? I doubt everything that surrounds Doc because he is a bad liar. I'll take Wyc and Danny's word of Doc's 10 outta 10 times.

Looks like Doc is in the cat bird seat<<<<whatever that means I think it applies.

I'm butt hurt...I'll get over it but that was a mess so mind bending most folks move on because they have no clue what went on. I hope Doc never wins another ring in his career.

If Doc lost a locker room with 3 HOF because of 1 point guard he better have some good assistants in L.A.

I hope he doesn't.

Go Thunder!!!!! ;D

Not quiet sure what that second sentence means....

But regardless, i was simply pointing out that this is not new information or a conspiracy theory. No need to get defensive ;) We also got a draft pick for a coach (maybe one you never liked even while he was here), so im quiet happy how the whole thing turned out considering if the Clippers blow up and players leave next season it may be a decent pick.

Thanks for the extended explanation, but maybe I need the cliffs notes version...sorry, but I am still not positive what the main point of this thread is supposed to be and would appreciate a bit more explanation.

Is it to point out that doc conspired to go to the clippers because he "knew" sterling would implode and doc would gain the reins of power there?

That doc is an opportunist who fell into a lucky situation?

That celticsblog should forever wail and gnaw its collective teeth against the evils of doc?  ;)

Thanks.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

You're embarrassed. Don't ever visit the Nets site (Which I love).

I think a person did a post yesterday about trading Rondo and taking back Ray ray ???
mmmm....whuuuu?

The issue isn't the post it's your issue with it. Not the same thing. Please don't get them confused.  I personally get annoyed with a "How to get k. Love " post...oh.....every couple days.

Why do I have to quit hating? Half the posts on this site would be instantly vaporized if "happy" was a forum rule.

You feel embarrassed....I feel that when someone writes 500 words without any thought to salary caps or CBA rules....that's just me though.

Read the 1st post. I was passing on info and making a conspiracy joke. Some folks got annoyed at...the joke? Get over it or get over it. You get over it and I'll stop hating...deal? O.K., you go first

Ready 3....2....1 Get over it!!! Yay!!;D

People are celebrating too soon on the demise of Sterling.

That team will be under his rul or his wife's for years to come.

He gas billion dollars to throw at the legal battle and lawyers chopping at the bit to take his money , so this battle has just begun.

So,  until the Sterling s die .....I wouldn't count my chickens just yet

Sterling uses the Clippers as a toy or hobby , or a way to show off and be a big shot.....he isn't just going to roll over for the NBA  .  They want to steal his toy in his mind ...

This battle will go for years.

Will Doc and players want to be part of this till Sterling dies or his ol lady too?

Somebody got the point :o

I think the N.B.A is not on solid ground. If the owners are in-fact owners it seems like this could go on for a while. A private conversation being secretly recorded can be seen as violating league policy? That should make owners nervous. He was talking about Magic mostly. Besides her repeating "You don't like black people" 10x They call that leading . I was making a conspiracy joke and was asked to give the "point"...of a joke??

I can't stand Doc my sig apparently doesn't quite get that across. That aside this was making light of something not yet mentioned on the site yet with a link to it......and dear lord a joke.

FWIW I never considered any benefit this might give Boston.

That's like betting your future on just the draft except like 10 times less likely to be fruitfull
