Hmmm....off the top of my head, without number-crunching...in no particular order. Just putting out some names, here:

Larry, Reggie, Ray, Kobe...Pistol Pete?

A few others I'm forgetting?

Ray Allen is definitely among the best...I wouldn't say "The" best. Maybe I'm too partial to the Green, but MAN I've seen games in my youth where Larry was just COOKING, lol......

Larry Bird would make the opponents SAD with his shooting...Reggie, too. Pistol Pete was before my time, but I've heard he could cook, too.

Ray is among the best, but to my memory...Larry was just a demoralizing shooter for his opponents...would talk trash while doing it, too lol.

The Legend was awesome but I'm taking in consideration what Ray Allen is doing at age 38 and after being consistently good (shooting) for so many seasons. He's been in the league since 1996...

I'd take into consideration that Bird, at the age of 35 and struggling with a serious back problem and other ailments and he still had a higher percentage than Ray did this year.

It's pretty obvious, IMO. Ray Allen is averaging 16 points, six rebounds and 61.1 percent shooting in the second round of the NBA playoffs, becoming THE closer in a team that has the best player in the planet... and all of that at age 38. Watching Ray Allen play (and understanding the legendary preparation behind it) it's poetry in motion.

PS: how many human beings could have made that (backpedal) shot against San Antonio last year?

statwise of course. Coming off screens i have him 2nd to Ray Allen.  Spot up 3 point shooter well can't say he is the best. Lot's of ties
Ray Allen definitely is a top 10 clutch 3 point shooter of all time

But when  you get to the category of ability to shoot a three pt shot while being defended, Allen is not in the top 10. Not even top 20.

The leader of this criteria belongs to Nowitzki, Steph Curry

Larry was just cooking in this game....just get that man a fire extinguisher.....wow.

He did this IN ATL...vs a Prime Dominque and a VERY good ATL team.

Is this "Really" in ATL?? LOL looks like there were more Celtics fans there than ATL fans...as is now ;D

I wouldn't definitively say he is the best shooter of all time, but he is certainly in the discussion. Ray is one of the hardest working, well-practiced shooters of all time and especially in the modern era.

Players like Durant and Curry will have  to be extremely lucky to catch Ray, but we won't know for roughly another 15 years.

This could be one of those records where we look up 30 years from now, and Ray is still the all time leader. He'll probably play at least another year or 2 to add to his total.

Curry is averaging 2.69 threes per game, while Allen is averaging 2.28. If he is injury free and keeps up the pace, Steph will have a good chance. Let's meet back here in 15 years  ;D

Curry's young though, and his numbers are pulled down by his first couple of years. The last 2 years he's average 3.3 or so a game, so it should only take 7-8 years to pass Ray.

He?s definitely one of the best ever. I guess I am officially over his "decision", I enjoyed watching his game in game one 2014 finals. Hope they lose the series though.

Ray is the best in my book.  Just the perfect blend of talent and dedication.

Call me when another player can hit at leadt 7 3s in two separate Finals games.

There's getting hot and then there's being the best.

In 3-point history? Yes.

Best shooter of all time in general? Nope.
