How do you think this roster will look next season?
Similar with few changes, or completely different?

What realistic trades and draft picks do you see will be made?

Intrigued to see what some of you may list as our potential roster...

Quote
PG - Rondo
SG - Jeff Green
SF - Sully
PF - K.O.
C - Embiid

I think Lebron will break the scoring record with Sully trying to guard him on the wing.

Why would we tank for Okafor if we already have Embiid?

I ultimately think the roster doesn't have a huge turn over.

The lottery is the lynch pin of the offseason.

I also think an Asik trade is coming. Question is how it exactly goes down. My guess would be Bogans + #17 for Asik and #25, this gives the rockets cap room.

I also think AB resigns. Bayless and Humphries will not be.

If the draft lottery goes great and the Cs land Parker I see the following lineup/rotation

Rondo (35min), Pressey (13min)
Green (21min), AB (27 min), #25 (Lavine?)
Parker (34 min), (Green 14min), Wallace, Johnson
Sully (29min), Bass (19 min)
Asik (30 min), KO (18 min), Fav

If the Cs don't get lucky with the lottery I could see them drafting smart and either packaging him for Afflalo and #12, In which case the same rotation would stand as above just with Green taking parkers spot and Afflalo greens. At 12 I could see DA going with Nurkic.

If they keep smart,

Rondo (35min), Smart (13min), Pressey
Smart (21min), AB (27 min), #25 (Lavine?)
Green (34 min), (Wallace 14min), Johnson
Sully (29min), Bass (19 min)
Asik (30 min), KO (18 min), Fav

In both senarios it may make sense to move bass for a longer athletic player capable of playing some minutes at the 5 to back up Asik and allow KO minutes at the 4. Ex trade Bass and future 2nds for Biyombo. Then play the bigs as follows

PF Sully (29min), KO (22 min)
C  Asik (30 min), Biyombo (15 min), Fav
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

Gave up on guessing who Danny will draft, especially without knowing the pick.

My guess is Rondo, Green, and KO should be starters, Sully should come off the bench as 3rd big (as suggested by his limited size - gosh some folks want him as our starting center!).  Those are the major pieces we have right now.

Bradley:  Cheap or gone.  Only plays about 4/5 of games, at best, on average.  20% chance not available or not 100%; not acceptable for a team planning a few years of long playoff runs.  I wouldn't commit to him as a starter. I truly home he comes back on the QO.

We will have a 7' defensive starting center next year.  Asik will move, no doubt, but not sure he  comes here.  I hope we trade Bass for him, plus whatever little bits, to balance our roster.  IT would be a huge upgrade.

I think the SG will come through the draft with our top pick.

Best I can do right now...

Accepting that the Wizards' blueprint may be what we're looking at here.

how realistic do you think these scenarios are) 1. we can somehow draft embiid and trade avery bradley to get a second pick in the lottery to draft marcus smart (1 star away from contending)
2. we trade ab jeff green and 17 and a future first for greg monroe and their lottery pick to draft marcus smart (1 star away)
also either way make a move on gordon hayward

1) not realistic.  Bradley is a free agent, can't be traded during the draft, and can't negotiate contracts until after the draft.  He might not want to negotiate a contract with the team you want the draft pick from.

2) also not realistic, for the same reason as above, and also because Greg Monroe is also a free agent, and so what was said about Bradley applies to Monroe as well.

Starting 5

Sully
Ko
Gordon
Green
Rondo

Bench
Jordan Adams
Wallace
Pressey
Faverani
Bass
Johnson
Bachynski

20 percent chance some big fireworks happen. Otherwise i predict only big changes/additions will be from the draft. With a healthy lineup, improvements from faverani, pressey, breakout yr from KO, Sully and impact provided from the rookies we have a chance to make 7th-8th place

I think this ends up being a very eventful summer for the Cs.

I think DA makes a couple big moves which will tip the scales in whether we return to being competitive next season or further immerse ourselves in what ends up being a long, tiring rebuild.

Furthermore, I think DA and Wyc make the conscious decision to stick with Rondo for the long-term and build around him.  Though many including myself have thrown out many Rondo trade ideas, I think at the end of the day Ainge comes to the conclusion that there just isn't a mutually feasible Rondo trade out there for both parties.

Therefore, the decision is made to bring in a couple veterans to pair up with Rondo and go for banner 18 next season.

DA brings in Josh Smith and Rudy Gay (Rondo's 2 buddies.)

On a big draft night deal, he trades Gerald Wallace, Jared Sullinger and the 2015 Clippers pick to Detroit for Josh Smith.

He then deals Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Avery Bradley (Bradley is signed and traded as he's a RFA) to Sacramento for Rudy Gay and Jason Thompson. This deal doesn't happen til after July 1st.

He keeps both no 1 picks for 2014 and selects Marcus Smart with the Celts pick and Kyle Andersen with the Nets pick.

He also resigns Jerryd Bayless and Kris Humphries for depth at the 2 and 4.

He's our opening night lineup

PG-Rondo/Pressey/Smart
SG-Bayless/Smart/Johnson
SF-Gay/Andersen
PF-Josh Smith/Humphries/Olynyk
C-Thompson/Faverani/Joel Anthony

Also, both Smoove and Gay have very successful years in Boston next season. Celts make it to the playoffs.

Rondo and Rudy are then resigned to long-term deals in Boston during the summer of 2015.

You heard it here first ;D

Sorry but we will never go anywhere with the lineup you propose. Gay and smith are losers. They know how to pad stats and help you win in the regular season but you will go nowhere after. Look at Torontos improvement when gay was traded and atlanta didnt even get affted with the loss of smith.

The amount of salary the team takes on should = reaching at least finals. But the team likely doesnt get past the 1st.
