Rondo, Jeff Green, Olynyk and Bass for Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver and Al Horford.

Think both teams go for it?

Celts get a really good center just hitting his peak in Horford to go along with Sully in the front court, a good young point guard in exchange for Rondo and Kyle Korver who's deadly from outside the 3.

As for the Hawks, they maybe decide it's time to move on from Horford because of his past injuries and take on 4 decent players from the Celts to go along with Lou Williams, Paul Millsap and Demarre Carroll.

Also, if the Hawks do this, they they open themselves up to huge amounts of cap space for the summer of 2015.

For the Celts, this helps them improve both in the short and long term.

No exchange of draft picks.

I can't see the Hawks going for it. They just took the #1 seed to a 7th game in their opening round of the playoffs, without Horford.

Hawks will be in a position this offseason to use cap space to bring in another solid rotation player to add to their core of Millsap/Horford/Teague. Or to upgrade it.

Horford/Teague would be nice, but the Hawks say no. Also Horford is a pure blood PF. No ifs and buts about it.

Without the incentives of picks, the Hawks basically become Rondo, Millsap, and Jeff Green. They basically become once again, the pure definition of mediocrity. I would like Kyle Korver and Horford, but I think ultimately the Hawks would say no 9/10 unless draft picks are included.

I would like Marc Gasol or Gortat

Maybe I am crazy, but if they insisted, I would give them one of our 2014 draft picks.

Which 'one,' are we talking about here? If you say the Celtics '14 pick, then I would agree with that statement gpap, no offense  ;D

Gasol would be nice. I just wonder if Memphis plans on extending him.

As for Gortat, with the year he's had in Washington, he might end up earning himself a pretty solid payday which might be out of the Celts price range.

exactly.  They are wanting to add to their core and this trade doesn't do that. Teague had a good year and playoff series.  He makes less than Rondo and is younger and plus under team control longer.  To be honest I don't think they'd have any interest in Rondo....
