I am not at all surprised by this. Imagine for a moment that you own a business that is quite visible by the public. One of your managers is at odds with you the owner and actively tries to get his division of employees (players) in an "us against them (everyone, including you)" mentality. Compounding this poor decision by the manager, he also rudely fires his assistants and bans a legend and veteran in your industry (Jerry West) from his meetings (practices) to further increase his us-against-them mentality. What would you do as an owner? Why would you tolerate this manager? No-one should.
I'm surprised that George Karl is still available. I know he's getting up there in age, but with the recent Denver team it shows that he can have a great deal of success with a team that doesn't have a superstar. And, George supports his owners not tries to pit people against them.
I hope that Mark Jackson doesn't go back to announcing. He's bland, always sides with the referees/league, and speaks so deliberately it's awkward to listen to. He has a preacher mentality to announcing and it's annoying.
