  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I... Part if me thinks that he could have done better, especially with his rotations. But another part of me is sad because every single player on that Dubs locker room bought in to Mark Jackson and thought that thats a big key movinf forward

The firing is of course, for internal reasons. But winning 51 games, someone must have rustled someones jimmies for him to get fired.

Im torn.

I never cared to listen to Jackson as a commentator/analyst so I hope he doesn't go back to that.

i'm thinking there was a lot of animosity between the front office and him. because if there wasn't all of these "stories" would get swept under the rug considering the coaching job Jackson has done there. if he's difficult to work with he won't get another job.

I'm sure Stephen Curry isn't too happy about this.

From a front office standpoint, I understand that there were plenty of issues at hand here.

But from a basketball standpoint, this makes no sense. The players loved him and they had a great season.

Dude is a motivator moreso than a coach.  I was never really impressed with him.  I think his team could have gone farther with a better coach who was better with Xs and Os than rhetoric.

D'Antoni Warriors makes me all aflutter on the inside.

Do commentators make good coaches?   I would say no.   Doc is only as good as his players.   Mark Jackson was not a cerebral PG.  He was hard working though.  Magic was a great PG and a horrible coach.   Forwards make the best coaches because they know both frontcourt and backcourt.   Bird, Tommy, Phil Jackson all Forwards and good coaches.  Guards are a crap shoot.  The best coaches who are guards sat the bench and learned.   Carlisle is a prime example.

He must have really ticked off the owners/front office, for them to let him go, given his record and players' support.  I do find Jackson arrogant and grating, so can't say I'm disappointed.

Nah I'd rather see him in OKC once they finally toss Brooks out.

If OKC doesn't reach the finals ....seriously think Brooks has had his day......time for another guy to have a shot .....I could see Steve Kerr at OKC
Durrant isn't going to stay in nowhere Egypt forever .....

Durrant may stay though ONE more coach .....then he does the LBJ and heads for other elite stars to win some rings . Hopefully not the Lakers.

Barkley is right..once Durrant leaves....that's the end of OKC ...ever mattering again for 30 years if ever.

I think Mark Jackson was a very cerebral player.  He had an amazing career when you consider that he was one of the worst athletes in the league.
