Well, it's not like young women tend to rebel against insecure, overprotective fathers by seeking out the exact kinds of behaviors those fathers are so opposed to, so I don't see any way this foolproof plan could possibly fail.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing!

The last pic, I don't know if I'd would be down with that. The guy has the gun right up to the kid, WITH the finger on the trigger. Hope he checked the gun to make sure it's unloaded before he let the father do that. LOL.

With having a daughter, some one asked if I was getting a gun. I said no, I'm getting a bazooka. That way I don't have to have good aim, I just have to get close...:P

The only one I really have a problem with is the last one. You never point a gun at somebody unless you're intending to shoot at them and you definitely don't put your finger on the trigger. That's an incredibly irresponsible gun owner.

I think it's hilarious and as a gun owner I was proud that everyone was safe until the last guy. Broke some golden rules. Sweet Thompson but not so sweet unsafe behavior.

Agreed.  Dude shouldn't own a gun if he doesn't know how to handle it responsibly.

I guess some progressives would rather see the kids being handed condoms.  I think the pics are hilarious.

Hahaha I just noticed that all the guys (except maybe the 2nd to last) are short, mostly shorter than their daughter's prom date.  A couple of them are even standing on something elevated to really hammer in the overcompensation.

They _are_ staged, how are they supposed to look?

In any case, I don't find them particularly funny either.

And I am even more curmudgeonly, I don't even like proms as a social phenomenon let alone guns and proms.  :P
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
