so you are picking the raptors to win in a crucial 7 game series?
Yes.
As much as defending Lowry has been a problem, I think that Pierce, KG, and Kirilenko have all looked like they've been playing in cement at times. It's probably not a coincidence that the Nets made their huge run with those guys on the bench.
so if kg and pierce will not bring celtics to championship hopes if they have stayed and same as the nets
with lopez injury, do you think they made the right decision by signing jason collins? he is the guy i think can at least defend valenciunas 1on1
Jason Collins sucks.
I was glad when he was gone, and was glad when he went to another team. God forbid, we tried to pick him up for no reason, but to add publicity, which is exactly what the Nets did.
There is a reason why Collins came out. It isn't, because he wanted to go down in history as the first gay basketball player, but that it would've helped him find another place willing to take him in for the extra media press.
Collins can't guard a fly, and only thing he can do remotely well is set good screens.
___
To answer your original question: No.
Nothing we added this year or the year before, besides a Kevin Durant/LBJ if we hypothetically had kept KG/Pierce would've helped us win a ring.
Danny Ainge was hated by many Celtics for a considerable amount of time, when he did the block buster trade, but.. Can you seriously blame him?
He did everyone a service by giving them another 2011-2012 run, the unexpected injury to Rondo was obviously shocking. Ultimately, the team was just cooked, and Pierce cannot be the focal point or go to guy anymore.
lebron is with a great SG wade healthy or not and a bunch of 3 point shooters
OKC? ibaka and jackson are enough even without Westbrook
I don't get what you're saying, no offense. Is your sentence implying that Lebron isn't great enough to lead a team with or without a healthy Wade? I think Bosh is so underrated, and is underrated by a majority of users here too. I still consider him or his Raptors day a bonafide superstar, and he has stepped up numerous times in the Finals. If anything, if Bosh didn't grab the rebound, and was the main catalyst for the assist to Allen for the 3, the Heat wouldn't even be in discussion for 3-peat.
Ibaka/Jackson enough for what? OKC needs Westbrook...
lebron and shaq varejao and others he can't handle it
so he needs to change a team
with westbrook injury i think as the season goes, they are not that bad before
yeah they need him now, tony allen and courtney lee defense? they need him for sure
kg and pierce would keep fighting even though its not a championship contender, they might retire as celtics and pierce as celtics for life
as the nets team, i think pierce can still ball, but kg even given a 30minutes a game with a young valenciunas, kg is no match, but i think this will be like the 7 game series vs miami the past years, with there bench players they can have a good rest for good
Please don't take offense, but I really don't get your point..
Shaq was past his prime, Varejao was injury prone, and during the tenure of James's career, Varejao was consistently out 3/4 of the time.
I don't see why people criticize Lebron so much. Yes I didn't like the fact he went to join superstars, but so what? The Cavaliers weren't going anywhere, and many multitude of promises weren't met. The best person they had on that team was honestly Mo Williams.
Tony Allen/Courtney Lee should be getting shut down by Durant. Durant is a 6'9 player with a 7'3-7'4 wingspan... Allen is taking advantage of the fact that Durant doesn't have a solid post game. If Durant had a post game similar to Melo's, Durant would have been dropping 30-40+ by now.
KG/Pierce would keep fighting, but there wouldn't be any results. 2010-2011 where we almost beat the Heat was our defining moment of us, and our influential tenacity. But if you seriously think adding great bench players, and adding maybe a decent Center would have made us playoff contenders with KG/Pierce. Of course. But we wouldn't be contenders.
As for the Nets/Raptors series, if the Nets can control the tempo and deny fast breaks, with the addition of taking smarter shots, then the Nets can possibly close Game 6, and finish them off in Game 7.
