Darn... I really liked George Karl too. To bad I will have to hate him now that he will become the next Laker coach.

Not surprised by this at all. D'Antoni is not a very good coach, why Lakers management gave jobs to Mike Brown followed by D'Antoni just blatantly screams tankfest to me.

I wonder if some other team is offering him a multi-year contract.
Or if he doesn't want another lottery year on his record when he interviews for other jobs.

Are we so lazy on this forum now that we can't even write the full name of the coach that resigned?

D'Antoni...The modern-day Paul Westhead...Was as gross a mismatch for the defense-oriented Lakers as los Nash was/is.   He'll land somewhere where defense is priority Z.

Karl would be a perfect balance of offense and defense for this group....If Kobe is healthy and they keep Gasol.  If they're tanking...They don't want Karl at all.

But you knew who the name of the coach is right?  :)

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

Given that Kobe has become epic in his defensive lapses, I wonder if he and Thibs could co-exist?

It's not a requirement and most know who is being referred to, but it is a little half-assed not to do.

I'm sorry (not really) that once you entered the thread after reading the title, that you didn't click on the link that clearly has his name in it. Besides, why comment about it today when you commented last night and it didn't seem like a problem.

Why would Chicago grant this permission?  If LA offered the #6 pick I guess that's something, but why would Chicago trade Thibs for a draft pick?  And further... why would Thibs want to leave the Bulls to coach a worse team?

Thibs doesn't fit the show boat flash and glitter the TV darlings need for a coach.

I don't think he d leave for LA. ......pressure cooker situation  ,  Kobe is OLD and. Brittle ......
