Before my time as a coach, but one of the great basketball minds of his generation and a class act to boot.  Always loved his commentary on games.  Sad to see him pass.

EDIT:  I hate to nitpick but since it is a memorial thread for the man - it's Ramsay with two As.

2nd EDIT: Thanks Moranis, TP for the change.  Sorry if it seemed petty, just thought it was appropriate.

Ramsay was awesome to follow on ESPN & radio.   Offered some great analysis without all the bluster and hub-bub that is 99% of ESPN analysts these days.

Good time as any to say that "The Breaks of the Game" is a must-read.

there's a handful of people that talk basketball that I would listen to, probably even less than that and Dr. Jack Ramsay was one of them. sad day...

Yep. Finally got around to reading it this summer, and it was excellent.

Loved when Dr. Jack was calling games. Great that he was able to win that championship in Portland.

I'll look to pick up his book! Thanks to the prior posters for the recommendation.

Very sad day.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
