Why are people demanding that Doc give up his job based on the actions of the Clippers' owner?  That's a much weaker statement than a few of you guys seem to think.  It hurts Doc, the team and the fans much more than it does Sterling.

If you don't take a stand, you're enabling.  So I agree with Ogaju

Quitting (which, ironically, has come up in other discussions of Doc's "integrity" by certain posters) isn't the only way to take a stand.

That's true, but I think that the Clippers refusing to dress for their next playoff game would go a long way towards hammering the point home that this is a big deal and isn't something that should be dealt with behind the noise of the playoffs.

Wouldn't Sterling be able to withhold player paychecks if they refused to play?

I'd rather the Clippers--and Warriors--both came out with "[bleep] Sterling" written on their sneakers in magic marker.

Edit: maybe even better: Clips sport "#mybossisaracist" on their shoes.

Then auction the shoes, and donate the proceeds to an anti-racism organization of Magic Johnson's choice.

Also, Atzar is right.

I don't think the Doc obsession is healthy, but I also think it would be pretty fantastic of the Clippers team, all 15 players, to refuse to play in any more home games until he's no longer the owner.

I agree this would be an awesome way to make a statement against him, EXCEPT they would be hurting the clipper fans who love their team.  As a player, I think it would be a really hard decision to make to basically take yourselves out of the playoffs because of Stern and let your fans down.

Clippers will have a very difficult time getting any free agents, or players who get traded there could refuse to report. Is becoming a PR nightmare for the NBA. Can see league forcing him to sell.

In the context of DTS' comments? I don't think they're done (Clips).

Doc has already came out strong against DTS' comments...when it's all said and done, players will want to play for the COACH and not the owner.

Doc Rivers is still one of the best coaches out there... proven winner....been rumored to coach Olympic Teams...his brand will remain.

CP3 is arguably (because I love Rondo) the best PG in the game right now...Blake Griffin among the best players in the game...DeAndre is becoming a FORCE in the playoffs...they have a rather young team and solid bench.

Their fanbase is strong, too.

Free agents - even after this mess - will still want to come to the Clippers based of the Coach and the team.

Clippers aren't done. DTS will have to atone for his actions/comments, but the Clips aren't done.

Nah, I love what Doc did in BOS, but it's Coach Steven's team now.

Doc has paid his dues already, in ORL and in BOS before summer 2007. He deserves his place in Clippers right now, even if the owner needs to change his ways/thoughts.

I think there's a good chance that this Sterling scandal affects the long-term health of the Clippers franchise, but I don't think it will affect their playoff chances this season.

The long term health of the Clippers has been in jeopardy for quite sometime although I agree with what you're trying to go with here.

Good point.  It did look to be on a little upswing, though.  But they are after all still the Clippers, the laughingstock of the U.S. sports world.

Didn't even think of this...

I guess we will see what happens with their team this offseason.
