While I do not believe the lottery is rigged, I am not naive enough to believe if someone really wanted to rig it, that they couldn't.

Reading is too complicated for him, I guess.

Every question he's had has been directly and efficiently answered.

4 balls.  1001 possible combos. 103 combos belong to Boston.  1 combo goes unassigned.  They do drawings for the Top 3 picks.  If the first combo belongs to Boston, boston gets the #1 pick.  If the second combo belongs to Boston, they do a re-draw.   If the one unassigned combo pops up, they do a re-draw.

Dude is making it harder on himself by refusing to read the answers to his questions.

I think he's just objecting to the lottery system in general.  It's fairly complicated to the average fan.

Not sure what's so complicated. Ping-pong balls must be the easiest way to mechanically draw from weighted odds.

If that's too complicated for the average fan to understand, then most basketball fans shouldn't be allowed to procreate.

there must be a better way.

There are 1001 combinations in the draft, the Celtics got 10.3% chance of winning the lottery, so you multiply that number by 10 so we have 103 combinations.

Combinations are numbers, just like a lottery, 4 number combinations in the drum that has 14 balls, one for each lottery team. The 1001th combination belongs to NO team.

Milwaukee has 25% chance of winning the lottery so they have 250 combinations, and so on for every team. Phoenix has 0.5% chance of winning the lottery so they only have 5 combinations.

Hope that helped.

EDIT: Milwaukee has 250 combinations.

Milwaukee has 64.2% chance of winning the lottery so they have 642 combinations, and so on for every team. Phoenix has 0.5% chance of winning the lottery so they only have 5 combinations.

This isn't quite true.  Milwaukee has 250 combinations, giving it a 25% chance of winning the lottery.  The odds of them winning the second and third pick shift depending on who wins the first pick.

Here are the odds (discounting ties) of a normal draft order:

250 combinations, 25.0% chance of receiving the #1 pick
    199 combinations, 19.9% chance
    156 combinations, 15.6% chance
    119 combinations, 11.9% chance
    88 combinations, 8.8% chance
    63 combinations, 6.3% chance
    43 combinations, 4.3% chance
    28 combinations, 2.8% chance
    17 combinations, 1.7% chance
    11 combinations, 1.1% chance
    8 combinations, 0.8% chance
    7 combinations, 0.7% chance
    6 combinations, 0.6% chance
    5 combinations, 0.5% chance

My bad, just corected it. I typed their top 3 pick percentage.

I got a good feeling about this lottery. I won 50 bucks on a 1 dollar scratch ticket today, won 100 bucks on a 5 dollar scratch ticket last week. This lottery is ours.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

You've got to keep this going over the next month.
