If Parker drops to #5, im going throw up!!! Looks like 76'ers loves Exum and Orlando really like Smart..

I've been saying this for 10 days now, if Exum sneaks into the top 3 and Orlando really likes Smart, they will trade down if Smart is sure to be available and pick up an extra pick or two.  This puts us in a prime position because we have the picks to offer, and Smart is sure to be there at 6.
both teams need a SF more than they need another guard though.  As does utah.  Sure Orlando could use a better PG than what's left of Jameer (Philly already has MCW but no scoring and I think Utah needs a better one than Burke) but they all really need a SF that can score and Parker can fit that role with ease for all of them.

I mean, I think you're probably right regarding Orlando, but I'm not 100% convinced.  I've heard a) that they would take Exum at #2, and b) that some in Orlando prefer Smart to Exum.  Those things don't really go together in my mind all that well, since that implies some in Orlando would take Smart at #2 -- but it could mean that they value Smart highly.

That said, Orlando already has pick #12 in addition to pick #3, so I doubt they'd be be willing to risk losing out on Smart if Exum were gone, if they did like him that highly, to go down to #6 and get a third first-round pick.  Utah could always pick him at #5, so there's no way the Celtics leap to #4, unless they pay a king's ransom.  Perhaps the Magic could use the Celtics offer to swap place with Utah, guaranteeing they get Smart, and pick up Utah's 2nd first-rounder, but we're not getting into the top 4.

Reading a bunch of twitter reports on how good Vonleh is.  Some are saying he should be included in the same talk as the big three.  Still like Gordon but wouldn't be upset for this guy.

If vonleh has put on 10-15 pounds of muscle and improved his explosiveness ,  he keep climbing

Those tweets from Chad Ford say Vonleh shot it poorly but did everything else exceptionally well.  Jonathan Givony compared him to Tristan Thompson, which makes some sense given the strengths and weaknesses at the same age.

I don't want Tristan Thompson with the 6th pick.  Heck, I don't think I want TT at 17.

Ford has a 3 tweets up on this:

https://twitter.com/chadfordinsider

Said another [NBA Exec]: "Vonleh's got elite physical tools and is very skilled. He should be in the same group with Wiggins, Embiid, Parker & Exum"

Danny was at yesterdays's workout according to another source.  Not sure if Ford was, but he did a writeup of another Vonleh work-out he attended last week that was similary very positive.

I'm happy we can't pick lower than 8th because I'm convincing myself I could be happy (at least initially) with any of the top 8...

That said, as much as I try to convince myself to like him, I feel Gordon has the most bust potential due to the fact that he doesn't have a real position. If he had even a halfway decent offensive game I'd be all for him because his defense is excellent but he's the size of an NBA sf who gets his offense like Griffin... with his current skillset, he needs to play pf since he gets most of his offense around the basket and he's just not build for it in the NBA. The athleticism is great but the guy makes Rondo look like Joe Johnson as a shooter. The ft % is awful and relates to the shooting.

I know he's young and has time to improve but how much can we expect him to? I think, as it currently stands, I'd hope DA only takes Gordon if we somehow completely lose out and get the 8th pick and he falls to us. If we're in the 5-7 range, I'd hope for Randle, Smart or Vonleh (though all have their own risks as well).
This.  Can't see using a lottery pick on a defensive specialist who can't shoot free throws and is a tweener.

Vonleh is not the answer at center.

Among these choices I would take Smart.

FWIW, Givony doesn't like Gordon or Saric either.

Right.  I think his comparson for Gordon was Jan Vesely.  I've said before, I hate both Gordon and Vonleh as prospects.

I'm not aware of his dislike of Saric.  In fact, I thought after his recent playoff run, Saric said Wiggins and Parker could not accomplish what he did with the team he had.  My recollection is that Givony said that was probably true.  All I have seen of Saric is YouTube videos.

Givony likes Saric, he's just not as bullish on him as the most ardent supporters. He compares him to a prime-Turkoglu, like an engaged Turk during his best years in Orlando.

Which if it turns out to be true, would be fantastic. Saric is only 20, with his whole career ahead of him to fill and surpass those expectations, and he's got more heart than Turk ever did if reports are to be believed.

Just as much the prima-Donna though. Don't let him out of your sight in Toronto, Miami, NY, LA, or pretty much anywhere.

I just won't believe DA would draft Smart with a sixth pick while Rondo is on the team. Not unless suspects Rondo is walking out of Boston, or DA drafts Smart as part of a trade that lands Smart on some other team.

If DA makes a pick for Boston to keep I think it will be Vonleh, Gordon or Randle

Smart would be a better fit with Rondo than Randle would be with Sully/KO

Givony said ORL Hedo is Saric's ceiling. Also said he needs a lot of work for a pick as high as 6 or 7.

I'll settle for Sacto Hedo, as long as he comes with the frosted tips.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
