Good Post, Pho.
It has been a long, tough season, but I really believe that better days are ahead.
Based on my 33+ years being a Diehard Green, I just don't see ANYTHING as bad as The Lean Years for this team going forward.
It was absolutely TOUGH watching Bird, Chief and McHale in the late 80s...loosing to the Lakers on Magic's HOOK SHOT...of all things, right?
He shot that thing right over McHale and Chief, too....oh well.
A HOOK SHOT.
I/We survived that decline in the late 80s....we survived BIAS. We also survived the passing of the bright young star named Reggie Lewis:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni7t4swtdYwWe all knew how heralded Bias was, but Reggie was developing into something special.
We survived that.
We survived the coaching carousel....we survived the draft picks.
For me, I survived being a young Seaman in the U.S. Navy and having shipmates howl in laughter at me for being a Celtics Fan in the early 90's, LOL.
Those were trying times.
Now? With all of the clamoring about tanking and wondering about the future, I know for a fact BOS isn't going back to the Lean Years...we have much better days ahead.
Danny has made some tough decisions....ones that I couldn't/wouldn't make, admittedly. But I know he cares about BOS - he wore the Uni, after all.
Better days are ahead.
Like Pho mentioned - we have to be patient...maybe even endure one more season like this.
But it will get better....and we won't have any HOOK SHOTS to worry about this time.
