we are only one game behind them, this victory if the magic lose out has decrease our chances of a top 3 pick already by ~10%, if we win another game it will drop by a further ~4% and if the lakers also happen to lose out it will improve thier odds by 5% with also the possibilty that they jump us in the standing by a coin toss. Ainge has to do something, winning other game could slip us down to possibly number 9 in the draft.

Let the rest of the season play out. I'm pretty sure when it's all said and done, the Celtics will be a bottom four team. By the way the Lakers and the Jazz play each other one more time this season.

we probably stay at fourth or what are we fifth? I don't think we move from fourth and get one more win in a game against Philly.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'm amazed how stupid the people that run this team can be sometimes.

Well...when Stevens is 57 years old .....and still trying to win

Geesse he is hard headed

I

you act like one of these picks are a shoe in to be Hall of Famers

Building a team and the team spirit is also important. Why don't these teams then throw in the towel and refund the fans their money??

You play to win. It doesn't matter if you lost every single game of the year. You still try to win the last one

We are still going to be able to draft a good player. If Green can play like tonight on a consistent basis, Danny is not going to trade him, even if we draft a guy like Wiggins. Embiid is the only guy i would even remotely consider tanking for. And its too late now. We have to win the lotto or trade the picks to try to get him

Understand that even though its easy for fans to yell tank, the coaches and players feel disgraceful when losing games, especially in front of their own fans. Its been a while i seen Stevens with a smile in a long time.

Lol I think everyone knows Green and the word consistent don't belong in the same sentence. Guy just doesn't have the balls or attitude -or the skill for that matter- to be a key piece on a contender.
He's gone first sniff Danny gets.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I don't understand all the rage.  I thought the tankers' stance was that "the front office tanks, but the players and coaches don't."

Fair enough, I begrudgingly swallow my pride, eat my crow, and accept the fact that the 2013-2014 was constructed to be a loser.  Mission accomplished, Danny.

However, now there seems to be a shift.  Organizational tanking no longer seems to be good enough for the tank crowd.  Folks are now bitter and angry that we aren't actually throwing games.

I kept reading earlier in the season that nobody was advocating for that.  It sure seems like many of you are at this point.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I continue to root for the tank, but only the organizational tank, including sitting borderline injured players.

I like watching the coach and players trying to win. Otherwise what's the point in even watching the games? Hopefully the youngsters have gained valuable experience and will be even better next year.

They hired the wrong coach for tanking.

He should ...but he is honest Abe to the end ......

Stevens more than likely got assurance s from Danny ...he wouldn't sit players to lose games

Stevens mindset

Won't allow this strategy .

Danny and Rondo will tank

Not Stevens

I think Stevens was hired a season too early.  Danny should've rented a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ty coach for a year and all these would've been history.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

But then you increase the risk of losing Rondo for nothing or for pennies. Sully, Kelly and company might not develop as well under an ML Carr situation.

Also if the Celtics are going to really try to win next year i think it was a good idea to let a young college coach get his feet wet during a garbage year of low expectations.

I think the time was right to grab Stevens.

silver lining: Bulls won the lottery with a 1.7% chance to win in 2008 and got derrick rose.

I know chances of happening are slim, but maybe winning this game brings good karma that we didnt exactly tank.
