To be honest I think Olynyk is a pretty rare talent - a 7 foot guy with very good post skills, a good jumper (with genuine three point range), excellent passing skills, great coordination (hands and footwork) and the ability to grab 9 - 10 rebounds a game.  There are very few guys I've seem over the years with that type of profile.  Troy Murphy? Brad Miller, Dirk, Rasheed, Keith Van Horn.  All of those guys turned out to be good starters at worst and All-Stars at best.

I think we'll find Olynyk will also fall into that type of category.  For a guy who is as skilled as he is at that size, combined with his highly coachable "team first" attitude, I think he will become a quality starter at the PF/C spot for years to come.

I think the minimum you will see him average (if he gets starters minutes) is around the 15 point, 8 rebound, 2.5 assist Mark.  That's a pretty good starter at the 4 or 5.

Yep, I agree with this.  He has shown in college that he takes time in getting used to his surroundings.  Once he gets and stays comfortable he can be a very good offensive player.  And I'm not worried about the fouls.  He will figure out how to foul less and the refs will give him a fairer shake in time.

Maybe he doesn't have the superstar potential of the faster, more athletic Wiggins but seeing guys play basketball right, seeing guys grow.

There are plenty of rough patches. But the Rondo, Olynyk, Avery and Sully big games make it worth the while.

Maybe I'm overly attached. Maybe all our players are just the interchangeable not-Jabaris (therefore worthless garbage) that some make them out to be. To each their own.

When some, not all, but a good amount, of rookies and young players get decent to big minutes on horrible teams, the reason they post decent to good stats is because they are on a bad team and someone has to get the rebounds, someone has to score, someone has to pass.

Not saying that is the case with Olynyk, we will find out if it is in the coming years, but there's just been a ton of examples of rooks and young players that put stats up on bad teams but get exposed for the role playing and limited players they are when they get to play for a good team.
