Unless the Celtics improve the roster drastically, Bayless will have a lot more value to other teams than to us.

As much as I like and am a Pressey supporter, if we bring him back next year than we can expect a season much of the same. If we went to be a playoff team, then we need another bench PG behind Rondo to make that happen, Pressey wouldn't be in the mix.

I hope the C's cobble together their non guaranteed deals to pick up a veteran that can give us minutes above replacement level, this means Pressey would go.

If Bayless is seeing minutes for us next year I will consider next year a failure.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I do agree on Bayless, though I could live with him as 4th guard for short money/short deal while we focus on more pressing spots in the rotation.

I really like the idea of keeping a cheap 3rd string practice squad, though.

Jammer Nelson ready to be a backup?

Pressey has been playing excellent as of late. He is scoring more efficiently(shooting, layups) and he has upped his intensity on the defensive end. That follow up dunk last night was unreal.  Look at the bench reaction

Pressey, yes.  Bayless...package him

Yes to both, obviously depending on what the offseason looks like.  Until we see otherwise, I expect next year will be a rebuilding and developing year much like this one.  With that in mind:

Bayless, at times, has been the only person on this team capable of creating his own shot.  He has flaws, but if you need a gunner off the bench you can do a lot worse than Bayless in my opinion.  He should also be affordable, and given the fact that we want to start creating cap space that's a noteworthy point.

I feel that Pressey is an NBA-level PG in every facet of a point guard's game except scoring.  Good handle, elite court vision and passing ability, controls tempo, undersized on defense but counters that by being quick and playing hard.  Unfortunately, if he can't improve as a scorer then he's probably out of the league in a couple of years despite the positives.  But in the short-term, he's a low-risk gamble with worthwhile reward.
