That team would put a terrible onus on a 1st or 2nd year Embiid to basically make the entire defense work.   Kobe, Melo, Love . . . none of them is a particularly good defender at this point.

No-one really is "running the point" when Kobe is on the floor, and next year will be no different.   Farmar or anyone else is no worse in "running the point" than Fisher was several years ago. Also, Nash is still under contract next season, maybe he will even be in one piece.

Disregarding the fact that this is an impossible team to assemble with the salary cap. I still think that team wouldn't make or win a championship.

Kobe is getting old and will most likely be nursing injuries the entire season. Melo would hog the ball and the lockerroom would be a mess.

Obviously I wouldn't be thrilled that the Lakers got a top pick and we didn't but I can't help but wonder who LA would take. Would they take Wiggins when they already have $48 million invested in Kobe playing in the same position for the next two years?

They'd run with Kobe and wiggins ala Phoenix. Probably get a faster big man over gasoline. Perhaps Millsap and a quicker jump shooting big that can run the floor which is what dantoni wants to do.
