Milwaukee's Larry Sanders suspended for five games for violating the NBA's Anti-Drug program, league says.

Five games is the automatic suspension for a third marijuana positive test.  While I have in the past contemplated the idea of trading for Sanders, this shifts him towards "do not want" territory for me.

I'm still all on board the Sanders train, but it takes a real effort to test positive three times for weed in the NBA. They famously only test you four times a year.

On the bright side -- this means that he's definitely going to be an easier asset to acquire than Asik, right?

Just amazes me that they still have to get in trouble for smoking weed but w/e that's a discussion for another place.


Sure, he may come cheaper as far as good assets but he does make long money so we will have to match that. I wonder what we would have to give up.

I like Henson, how do we snag him instead? Do we even want to go young? I think Danny plans on someone like Asik who is already ready to be big for a (playoff) contender for the next 5 seasons or so, we don't want to wait too long for the development of a key piece like the center... at least I don't think we do but who knows...

He just signed a 4 year, $44 million extension last fall that begins next season.  I don't think he's hurting his earnings all that much, aside from the loss of 5 days of his current salary (which is much lower than his extension).

Meh, he's really not that good a player anyway.

I mean he's not a bad player by any means, but it's not like he'd be our saviour.  Wasn't that impressed at the start, and this certainly doesn't help his case.

Based on his recent support of pot legalization, seems primed for trade to Denver.
