HOUSTON -- Los Angeles Clippers forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis was sent back to the team's locker room by coach Doc Rivers with 10:21 left in the second quarter and will miss the rest of the game for disciplinary issues.

Davis was visibly upset as he walked toward the team bench after being taken out of the game for Ryan Hollins in Saturday night's showdown against the Houston Rockets.

Davis exchanged words with Rivers and was told to sit down. Clippers assistant coach Alvin Gentry attempted to talk to Davis, but Rivers apparently had seen and heard enough and told team security to escort Davis back to the locker room.

Can't say I'm surprised.

That's why I was surprised Doc wanted the Clippers to sign Davis in the first place.

I mean Doc and Baby had a rocky relationship here in Boston. Why would Doc have wanted him in L.A.?

Davis is an asset and provides a little offense off the bench. He's not a bad player especially as a backup. I like what Doc did though, behave or I will bench you or send you home. Show your players who have complete control

Agreed, Davis is a decent bench player and provides offense. To me, the only real knock on him is he's undersized as a power forward. Oh and that he seems to drive Doc crazy (lol.)

It's never really been about his play, it's his attitude that's questioned and Doc already had enough of it in Boston, he's not going to take it in L.A.

Davis would / will be in jail if not for the NBA.

Like world peace .....he has serious mental demons in his head.

I'd be upset if I was benched for Ryan Hollins too. ;)
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Yeah, I thought Doc was pretty psyched to see Davis shipped off to Orlando.

I think that relationships are complex and not necessarily defined by specific incidents.  We only think we know doc's relationship with bbd just as we think we know rondo's character based on a few public incidents.
We know 1/1000th of the interactions between doc and BBD.  Many of the interactions we don't see or dont comment on are non-contentious and maybe even positive.

Think of the worst interactions you've had with family members. These don't necessarily define your relationships.

Davis is shortening his career with his attitude.  When I start to knock bass i think of the trade bass for davis  :D
Out of shape, attitude problems and a limited game yet he thinks he is a top notch player.
Good guy to have off the bench but still a small power forward.
Makes me miss Leon !  Guy playing on 2 bum knees but great attitude and giving it his all

I've thought Glen Davis is an absolute moron ever since the incident prior to the 2010/2011 season, where he allowed his drunk friend to drive not only themselves but their partners as well. As if putting all their lives at risk wasn't enough, he then proceeded to get into a fight with him. Breaking his hand, costing him games as a result.

Just a buffoon of the highest order. Signing him makes Doc look a little desperate. Bet he regrets it now.

Yeah, let me know when he sends an insubordinate superstar home.
