I say we end up picking 4 and 17. Realistic not pessimistic.  Take one of the PGs Exum or Smart, and trade Rondo for Monroe.

I think picking 4th is fairly unlikely now. first, I don't believe the C's finish with the fourth worst record. Probably 5th or 6th is most realistic. At 5th or 6th worst record, picking 4th is impossible. But even if they finish with the 4th worst record, the only way they pick fourth is if the three teams in front of them end up winning the lottery, which I don't believe has ever happened.

I think the C's end up with the 1st , 2nd , or 3rd pick by winning the lottery or end up selecting 6th, or 7th.

Okay good point, I'm a bit rusty on the lottery rules.

Still the fact that if they have the 4th worst record still requires the 3 teams in front of them to 'win' the lottery in order for them to pick 4th, and it has never happened, doesn't mean it won't happen now. But whatever, my point is that there are two very good point guards in the top 7-8 players, and it is very possible that DA might decide The Rondo era is over and he needs to better align the ages of the top players on the team and have them grow together.

If we didn't have those 2 miracles against Miami it'd be very realistic :/

The first one was a miracle and easily our staple win of the season. The 2nd one was a back end of a back to back where they were sitting Lebron. All we had to do was have enough players to play in order to win that one.

It's getting more and more confusing about what to root for.  Day to day, I have it as:

Celtics - lose
Nets - lose
Hawks - want them to get the 8th seed
Lakers - win
Toronto - win
Chicago - win
Washington - win
Detroit - win
Orlando - win
Bobcats - win
Detroit - win
Utah - win
Sacramento - win

Now I'm adding:

Kentucky - win with dominant Randle performances, in hopes he goes 4th in the draft in case we pick 5th so we can snag Exum

If it's any consolation (at least this is something), perhaps one or both of those wins cost the cHeat home-court vs Indy.

Philly and NBA should be taught a lesson

I would simply play nothing but the bench and loose on purpose ....both of the 76 ers games

I would not go in giving them a loss.

I would see to it they WIN both games.

No way 76ers or Bucks draft Randle. Celtics probably pass too. That leaves LA, SAC, and Utah I doubt anyone top 4 takes him.

Randle will drop out of the top 10.  I think  he will struggle in the NBA.

Based on this Mock

http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2014/

#9  McDermott

#20 torn between Payne, Harrell, Lavine, and J Young. Payne and Harrell can play know Lavine and Young have alot of potential. None fill a need so I go with ceiling and draft Lavine

Ive never said anything like this before, but I am a 55 year old man and if we are dumb enough to draft McDermott anywhere in the top 20, I will try to stop being a Celtic fan for awhile. I think he is a completely useless player, as bad as Luke Harangody was. We are going to rebuild around THAT?

I am too old to wait for a rebuild around a gm who is that dumb. I'll stick to Seahawks football.

If we get 9 and 20. Based on draftexpress: #9: I'm hoping Gordon falls to 9 but if not I'm taking Nurkic (could very well be our long term solution at Center).

At 20 I'm hoping Warren falls to us, but if not, it's a toss up between Young (high upside but serious struggle on d), Harrell (beast, who unfortunately plays the position we have a logjam at) or Bogdanovic (gonna be a really good perimeter scorer, his shot is wet).

I'm pretty stoked we have 2 first rounders this year. So many good players all the way through.

Very pessimistic prediction of our picks.  Most likely we are picking top 6 plus #18.  If we land a top 4 pick then we are pretty much guaranteed a star out of Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum group.

Remember guys, even if you finish 6th, it doesn't mean you will pick 6th, it's a lottery.  We could easily end up picking 3rd or even 4th with a 6th place finish.

I think he will be Zach Randolph. That's not bad.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Actually its an impossibility to land the 4th pick while finishing with the 6th worst record in the league. The Celtics actually more likely to pick 7th than to finish in the top 3.

With the 6th worst record the chances are

1st pick 6.3%
2nd pick 7.1%
3rd pick 8.1%
4th pick 0%
5th pick 0%
6th pick 43.9%
7th pick 30.5%
8th pick 4%
9th pick 0.1%
