Its DA job to down play if he over hypes then a lost lottery is a moral killer and If the Cs end up top 3 the player will be burdened with unrealistic expectations.

My take on this draft,

Any of the top 6-8 could have gone #1 last year

If this class was added to 2012 Davis still goes #1 but this drafts top 4 would have gone in the top 5

If this class was in the 2011 draft the top 3 Embiid, wiggins and parker would be in the hunt for #1 with Irving

Where players like Lebron, Durant, and Davis are A++ prospects (transcendent super stars) and last years draft topped out with guys who I would consider B prospects (Oladipo, MCW near all stars in their primes). This draft has a nice group of A- prospects (solid all-stars) at the top then a solid group of C+(starters) guys filling the lottery.

I think this draft is a lot deeper than that and I would only give the top players a B+, but there are plenty of B, B- players filling out the first round.

I am just scared that Danny pulls a Fab Melo. He really did not do his homework on that pick and it was a total waste.

Considering the crazy amount of F's in drafts, if you were to evaluate the draft on letter grades and have a better reflection of reality, would it not be better to give drafting a usable player a C (pass)?

So then getting a solid rotation player out of the draft would be a B, and a starter an A-...and a fringe NBA player a D.

Then a star A+ (or more) and a franchise player an A++++****++++****+.

Danny is totally right if you are talking sure things as even the top guys have major flaws. However there appear to be many more guys with serious potential compared to past years. And I refer to potential as guys with talent where the flaws are correctable either by strength training or by technique coaching. Hood, Young, etc all have correctable flaws. The skinny power forwards could add serious muscles to go with their considerable athletic skills. The true shooters may be able to play just enough defense to get bye. And those athletes with poor shooting strokes can be taught a better stroke. People forget that guys like Magic Johnson had a poor stroke but it was fixed within a year of coming out. I don't recall a draft where I have seen so many flawed players where the flaws could be fixed so easily. Flaws are different than basic limitations which can't be corrected or overcome. I see a lot of flaws but I don't see a lot of limitations. And those with limitations might have such shooting skills that they might be acceptable.
