I think Boston's recruiting pitch starts with "Hey, we're in the Eastern Conference!"

I just wish we didn't have Gerald Wallace clogging our books - we'd be in such a better position if we could trade for Love and have the space for Rondo and Love to court a 3rd star free agent in 2015.

As is, we'd have to hope Wallace's expiring + whatever assets remained could land us a 3rd wheel.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Yeah, I think we'd have to kind of just hope that having Rondo and Love together would entice some second-tier star player to make it known that he really wants to be here and then some kind of deal could get worked out somehow.

What are we trading for Love in your Wallace-less scenario?

I'm hoping that we already have that 3rd star somewhere on the roster now.

We keep one of Sully, KO, and/or Green, and that's the 3rd piece.  Green and Sully are both pretty close already, the 15-17ppg ish average, with a wide margin of extremes.  KO is rounding into one of those guys.

Then, having our current crop of veteran role players either expired or traded, we're back to looking for the piece to complement the core for our title run.

Sully and Love can't play at the same time together.  They'd have the same problems Pek and Love are having now.  There needs to be a real rim defender next to Love and Sully ain't it as this Raps game is proving right now

A couple points as somebody who attends a lot of Wolves games.  I think Love is at the end of his rope.  He still plays hard, but his frustration with his team and the league is at an all time high.  He's NOT a natural leader, but he is a personable guy and I think he finds himself playing alongside "friends" who just can't get it done.  Some other team notes...

Martin has been pretty solid.  You might not like his efficiency, but he's the go-to ISO guy when they need a bucket.  He takes a lot of tough shots and he's been consistent when healthy.

Rubio is a fringe NBA player.  I don't care what the numbers or highlight reels say, opposing coaches exploit him in most games.  He's shooting better recently, but it comes and goes, and when it goes it really goes.  You don't know if it's gonna hit rim or backboard first.  He is exceptional at getting in the passing lanes.

A few guys commented the other day that they don't think Love is an elite player.  Maybe they were trolling.  If not, they're crazy.  Love is top 10.  Arguably the best rebounder in the league.  THE best 3pt shooting big.  Off-the-charts IQ.  Elite post up game.  Number 3 in PER behind you-know-who.  Blake is the only PF who's been better this year, and if you paired Love with Deandre Jordan, that would probably change.  Honorable mention to Davis.

If you have a chance to get Love on a long-term deal, you absolutely do it.  Olynyk, Bradley, filler, and both our 1st round picks?  Yes.  No question.

Finally, a realistic fact-based assessment of Love's game - although I completely disagree on what it will take to land him. The Wolves will laugh at KO and Bradley.

If Danny can land Kevin Love, it's a huge step in the rebuild. Absolutely huge.
You noticed I included BOTH of our first round picks this year, right?  I don't think that's anything to sneeze at.  What I should have said was, you can have anybody on the roster except Rondo and Sully, plus 2 first round picks.
