Why am I not seeing this beast on draft boards?

Wondering about Marcus Paige too... I don't see him being much different from Tyler Ennis. Is it just an assumption he's planning to stay in school?

Kane is going to be 25 in June. He's two months older than James Harden.

Yeah, I read that. And some attitude issues early at Marshall. But not even late second round? He's got great size, shot has drastically improved, strong, and can create for himself & others.

As others have said he is already 25...

But I think there are a nice group of lower upside players including Kane who will be productive rotational players that are drafted late first early 2nd in this draft.

As others have said, he's old.

Another issue is that he's winning with strength in college, he just bullies his way to the rim in college or to get open shots. In the pros he's not going to be stronger than everyone.

Despite his age, I would pick him in the late second round (after buying a pick)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

he definitely looks the part. he's a PG that looks like a PF. definitely going to try to check out the Iowa State game in full.

25 is not exactly over the hill . .. he might be one of the few players who's ready to contribute to a pro team right out of the gates. also, he's got a lot less miles on his tires that pros of the same age (one would assume).

I would really like to see DeAndre Kane make the NBA, but I will understand if he doesn't.

That is kind of how I feel.  I am an ISU fan and I really hope he gets a shot.  He is kind of a more consistent version of Marcus Smart.  Really good shooter at times, can finish at the rim against larger players, will fight for rebounds, willingly gives up the ball to the open man.

I just wonder how he does against stronger physical players in the NBA.  He is somewhat prone to the dumb turnover, and needs to become a better free throw shooter.  But if I had to choose him versus Pressey as a back up point guard, I would choose Kane.  If we are keeping Bradley, he would pair nicely with AB in the back court due to his size, strength and ability to run the point.  Kane could cross match to the bigger guard on D.  Kane has an NBA body, mentality right now.

He went for 24 points / 10 rebounds / 7 assists versus a much larger UNC team on sunday.

He playes with swagger that can't be taught. He is out of the box nba ready and could come off the bench as a sg/pg for alot of teams next season

He has a strong body, comfortable driving either left or right, finishing with either hands, all of a sudden this year is a deadly shooter from all over the court (needs to improve FT shooting but has been every year) and has been clutch all year long.  When Iowa has been down, he and Eljim have been a force together, getting the team back in the game.

I know he is old for a college player but he is also polished.  Marcus Smart ideal season as a sophmore would of been the one Kane just had. They have similiar game/size

I am intrigued.  If he's available with the second round pick that the Celtics will purchase, then he'd be a good pickup.

Imagine him backing up Marcus Smart!   :o

Soften the opposing PG with Smart and finish them off with Kane!  Blammo!

well, last year the celtics picked up pressey and it did not even cost them a draft choice. maybe they repeat this "magic" with Kane.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

A scenario I have discussed with my son is Boston doing a deal where they move their Brooklyn pick and their conditional Philly 1st rounder to Minnesota or Utah for their 1st round pick and their high 2nd round pick. Then with the later first round pick taking Jerami Grant or James Young, guys who I think could have high upsides if they develop and then grabbing Deandre Kane in the high second round and using him as this team's third guard as I could see him playing well with both Rondo and Bradley

He'd be fine to take a flyer on if we got a pick in the 50s, and would presumably replace Pressey.  If he pans out, he's a cost controlled reserve for a few years, but I doubt if even NBA starter is his ceiling.  That's useful, and a good thing to have at the league minimum for 3-4 years so you can spend your money elsewhere, but he's not someone to mourn if he winds up elsewhere.  Think of him as the PG version of Colten Iverson.
