I first saw this guy a couple of weeks ago and he immediately intrigued me. Firstly, I think the fact that he is 6'6 is bogus, he often looks like he's the tallest and biggest guy on the court.

He already has an NBA ready body and is crazy athletic, not to mention the 7'3 wingspan. The energy of this guy is just astonishing, he is EVERYWHERE, hustles for loose balls and tenaciously protects the paint and the rim. Him being undersized is a bit of an issue, but you just don't notice it when he's out there grinding.

It's very possible that he's still on the board until the middle of the first round and we just might snatch him with the second pic. He wound cure our rim protection and paint defense issues.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
While I do like him, the last thing we need is another power forward. Unless we ship Bass out, let Hump walk, and don't grab a big with our first pick...I'll pass.

Hump has been playing quite well this season, he can be shipped for a quite good return. Bass is more expendable, but tradeable, nevertheless.

Would love to add him the Celtics.  His motor will rub off
and he can play backup center minutes.  Then down the road
he could fill out and maybe even be a starting center
ala Ben Wallace.  Otherwise you've got a nice role player
for the long haul.

I think Rondo would like playing with him. I love his tenacity and motor, but I really dont like his height at 6'8. We dont really need another undersized PF. I'd love to have him with a second round pick (Which we dont really have), but not with any of our first round picks.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

6' 6" without shoes. but, his standing reach is 6' 11" i believe. and since most players normally rebound with their hands and not their heads, that may be the more important stat.  :D

This is the one guy that has stood out to me during the start of madness and I wrote about it in the other thread as well.

I absolutely loved him as soon as I watched him for ten second. His defense is crazy good he is crazy athletic and is a huge hustle guy. Has no idea what to on offense besides get garbage buckets but man he looks like a great athlete.

As far as having him on the Celtics, I mean if he was 2 inches taller I would say yes in a heart beat... But I have seen him listed anywhere from 6' 6''  to 6' 10'' on different websites...Thats a huge difference. Next to Sully I don't see how they would really mesh together. As much as I like him I'm sick of the undersized Celtic power forwards of the past. The difference in why I would take Harrel however is his athleticism.

again, his standing reach is 6' 11", which is almost exactly the average standing reach average for pfs in the nba. (6' 11.1"). if he does have the amazing athleticism and energy you mention, then he will probably be able to rebound just fine in the nba due to really long arms.

my question about him concerns his offensive game. it is quite raw and undeveloped right now and may never develop to be anything important.

he is a gamble in the first round.

it's true. Offensive game is basic/raw. No left hand.

At worse you are looking at a longer , bigger Leon Powe.  That is a good player to have on your team .  Pure heart, hustle and energy to raise up your team game
