Pressey is shooting .280 from the field on a non-trivial sample of close to 200 shots this season. I'll be excited when we're able to upgrade his spot in the rotation to a real NBA player.
Since the 1980 season, only four players have shot below 29% with over 150 field goal attempts: Pressey, Bobby Hurley, DeShawn Stevenson (twice), and J.R. Bremer.
If you raise the bar to 175 field goal attempts, the list shortens to just Pressey and Hurley.
That's impressive.
Yeah, shooting is an issue (mildly put) - to the point that he passes up even the wide open ones. I like his vision, passing, handle and improved decision-making, though. If he manages the giant leap to a 34-35% 3 point shooter over the summer, he is definitely a keeper. He brings pace to the second unit
A question: could somebody with more knowledge than me tell me if there is some kind of issue with his shooting technique? I see nothing really wrong, except the fact that the ball does not go in the hole.
