Great interview. He talks about his career as a Celtic, the end of the Bird era, tanking, and getting slighted by Rick Pitino.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

They have a yearly comic-con here in Seattle called "Emerald City Comicon"  http://emeraldcitycomiccon.com/ ... My girlfriend loves it.  All sorts of comic artists, vendors, celebrity panels, voice actors, etc.  She bought us VIP tickets.  She's been looking forward to it for months.

She runs the cake decorating department for a local bakery.  She has a cake blog where she posts some of her creations... like her Katamari Damacy/Penny Arcade themed cake:  http://cakekitty.com/2009/11/katamari-damacypenny-arcade-cake/  ... Or the time she actually made me a Reddit "upvote" cake for my Reddit cake day... she was bummed her "upvote spaceship" ended up looking like an orange butt plug, but I thought it was cool:  http://cakekitty.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/redditcake3.jpg ... Oh yeah, one year she made me a Boston Celtic cheesecake... she made the logo out of white chocolate:  http://cakekitty.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/celticscake.jpg

Anyways, the sister company to the bakery is a book store that is right next door.  She noticed some "celebrities" were showing up every once in a while to do book signings... like Henry Rollins, for example.  So for fun she started making the celebrities individualized cupcakes, taking a picture, and blogging about them.  I still say Henry Rollins is the best one:  http://cakekitty.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/henryrollins.jpg ... Then since she's a huge fan of the Emerald City Comiccon, she started making custom cupcakes and blogging about some of the "celebrities" that she met every year.   Guys like Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Gallactica) or Pen Ward (creator of Adventure time)... She has a collection of her celebrity cupcake encounters here:  http://www.celebritieswithcupcakes.com

So she's looking forward to this year's comiccon in a few weeks.  There's some fun guests:    The voice of Bart Simpson, MacGyver, Cary Elwes, Amy Pond from Doctor Who,  Ron Perlman, Rick Fox, Karl Urban, Alan Tudyk...

Wait... Rick Fox???  What the flip? ...

I posted on the ECCC facebook page, "Can't wait to meet Rick Fox!!"... I didn't get any likes.

I was massively confused by this until I realized he's dating Eliza Dushku... another guest.   That makes way more sense.  He's probably just going to be sitting at her table being her bodyguard from the hoard of nerdy mouth-breather fanboys.

I think I'll get my Rick Fox rookie card autographed. I'm guessing I'll be the only person in line.

I was at Rick Fox's very First Celtic game---Summer league @ Loyola Marymount(where Hank Gathers Died)----anyway, he was just sitting in the stands(before the Celtics were scheduled to play)---so me and my friend walk up and shake his hand/welcome him to the C's...Super nice guy.

Game starts, and he's killing it-dominating the Summer League scrubs--Blows out his sneaker halfway through the game--and has to sit the rest of it out.

not an epic story---but memorable for me.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I remember Rick Fox's rookie year... I had a Boston Celtic magazine of some sort... pretty sure I still have it somewhere.  Bird, Parish and McHale are on the front.  I remember there was an ad in there for the local Fox Television affiliate with Rick Fox... and it said something like "Make Fox your Number 1 pick".
