Wonder if that will impact the ratings, and if lower ratings would "increase the odds" of the Celts and Lakers having luck in the lottery.

it's good for the nba in a way. gets other franchises more successful and creates a more competitive league. the nba has been dominated by only a handful of franchises but i say screw the other teams lets keep the green on top

If the lottery was "rigged" to have the Lakers pick #1 and the Celtics pick #2 would you be more happy that the Celtics moved up to the second pick or angry that the Lakers got the first pick?

Wow.

Of those four, I expect BOS and LA to bounce back.

Sixers will be better, but I can't see anything other than perhaps a marginal improvement at best.

NY? I think they could give Phil the keys to the car in NY and I'm not sure how/if he could fix them....

Maybe Phil could get them to play harder? It's not like M Woodson is a bad coach...he's one of the better ones out there.

Melo should just come on to BOS and not worry about it anymore :).

76ers will probably pick up a superstar in this draft.   Depending on how you feel about Noel, they might already have one on the roster.  And MCW isn't too bad.

I like that future big-3 for them.

Yeah, PHI's future isn't too bad, but I hope they're not entertaining any playoff aspirations next year.

A core of MCW / Noel / potential superstar pick - won't get them much respect from the officials and they're lacking experience.

BOS / LA? we both have superstars that are yearning to prove themselves in Rondo / Kobe....those two alone will make BOS / LA competitive and playoff spots.

If/When Kobe convinces Pau to come back, that's a playoff team right there.

For BOS? Rondo / Sully / Green (Potential Blockbuster Auerbachian-like trade by Danny) - and we're in the playoffs, too - just like that.

I just don't see PHI there next year. Noel isn't ready...he's still probably reed-thin....he needs a few years to develop. Someone like Zach Randolph will hurt Noel down low.

Celtic fans should root for the sixers next year. If they make the playoffs the celtics get their first round pick, giving the celtics 3 picks total.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

The funny part is that the Knicks aren't this bad on purpose.

A somewhat similar fact (and what I thought this question was asking at first) was that in 1994, the 4 teams that won titles in the 80's (Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, Sixers) all missed the playoffs, and this year might be only the 2nd time that has happened.

Of course since this year will be only the 6th time the Lakers haven't made the playoffs, you could really combine anybody with them for these type of questions.
