ESPN.com has said Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks talked about 2 weeks ago..I always said he would be the Knicks coach if he decided to return to coaching. As bad as the Knicks are, he may actually have to coach lol

Phil Jackson only coaches teams that have at least 2 superstars to ride to a championship.   Knicks sorta have one in Melo, but that's about it.  Jackson would make more sense on a team like the Thunder or Heat.

He won't go to a dumpster fire to coach.

Not his style.

There is absolutely nothing to this rumor, other than of course the Knicks would hire him.

Why would Phil go there?  That'd be foolish.

The Knicks should hire Phil Jackson as their new GM.

I think he'd do a great job.

He is so old ....gee ........and so frail ...not seeing him on the road as a coach .

Only the fact he like get revenge on his being shunned for the coaching job ....which probably helped Howard make his decision to leave .

Just don't won't him in basketball .......he needs to take his 50 billion dollars and go retire ...for good ...buy an island and disappear.

Don't see it happening—the Knicks have only one superstar and are far from contending, much less being a title favorite.  ;D

The Knicks want a lot of things, including Rondo. As we've seen, that doesn't mean they're gonna get it.

That being said, this is a no- lose for Jackson. If he comes in and turns the car wreck around, he's the Zen Master hero. If he doesn't, that's real easy to explain away: not his fault.

I think Phil just misses the fanfare from seeing his name pop up on news stories so he may have suggested he would consider the job just to get his ego stroked a bit for old times sake.

well they have melo and there's plenty of sources that have confirmed that the knicks are interested in everyone.

A friend of mine used to work in an upscale bar that a lot of the Blazers' opponents would stop in when they were in town to play Portland.  He said that Jackson would often meet there to talk with his assistant coaches.  He said it was hard to watch him walk around because of how much pain he was in.

Phil isn't interested in coaching.  He wants to run a team.

He's engaged to marry his long-time girlfriend Jeanie Buss.  Her family owns the Lakers.  I think now that Jerry Buss has passed away, she's the representative for the Lakers at at Board of Governors meetings.

That would be kinda weird if Jackson was running the Knicks and his wife owned the Lakers.  I wonder if they'd engage in trade discussions during elderly bouts of love-making.

I know how CB nation feels about my man Stephen A. Smith but last week he reported on First Take that tha Knicks reached out to a 68 year old Phil Jackson on possibly coaching tha New York Knicks.

Now it's reported tha Knicks are dangling their front office in front of Jackson and he's expected to make a decision this week.

Again, I know how you guys feel about Stephen A. but at least it isn't Broussard this time again. Any thoughts on Jackson taking tha front office job? Should he take it?Would Melo stay if he accepts?

I've gotten this from First Take but here's a link.
