Every year it seems like experts and fans alike seem to over shoot there expectations for draft prospects. This is my grounded player comps for the projected top of the 2014 draft. Includes player and that players career stats (rounded up). Being 30 I found myself pulling alot of names from the 90s.

Do you think Wiggins has a ceiling of "consistent Jeff Green" or do you think Wiggins at age 18 is "consistent Jeff Green".

Last year's draft wasn't hyped up very much, whereas this one's been hyped up for years.

Well you have storied prominent franchises tanking for picks and I do honestly believe the talent pool is better this year. Who came out of last years draft that's any good, Oladipo? Giannis? Pretty weak...

Anyways thats why I think it's getting more hype and attention.

Do you think Wiggins has a ceiling of "consistent Jeff Green" or do you think Wiggins at age 18 is "consistent Jeff Green".

I would say wiggins ceiling is as high as any player in the nba but my realistic expectation for him at his prime would be consistent Jeff green. If more consistent I would think green could be a 20pt 6rb player with near all nba defense. I guess another comp would be Deng.

So maybe "more consistent, more well-rounded Green" -- which would be an All-Star caliber player.

I was less focused on the hype of each draft and more the comps that are given for players. Last year Gianni's was compared to pippen. The chances of him being that elite of a player are very slim but people place that comp on him around the draft. Nic batum is more realistic and grounded a comp.

Let's hope he's as unimpressive to you as he is to the GMs running these teams... maybe Wiggins will fall to us as #15.  I think we're making the playoffs this year.  Rondo is going to lead the charge over the final month.

Warriors, Nets, Pistons, Pacers, Knicks, Suns, Pelicans, Mavs, Heat


I count 6 teams that are clearly better than the Celtics and should win without any trouble, and the other teams are all more talented than the Celtics and are favored.  Perhaps the Knicks are an exception.

I don't see any reason to think that the Celtics will finish with more than 30 wins.  I'm pretty confident that a top 7 or 8 pick is coming our way, unless we have some REALLY bad luck with ping pong balls.
