"[The 2013-14 season has] been great. The experience has been fun," Wallace said. "Losing sucks, it always does. I felt like we're a lot better than what our record shows. We've had some ups and downs, some learning curves, not only from the players, but from the coaching staff as well. Everybody learning everybody was an adjustment. But I think for the most part, it's been a great season."

There you go, not everything out of Wallace's mouth is venom.

Dude gets hate. I disliked him quite a bit for a while.

But at this point, he just doesn't give a crap any more. He'll speak his mind. I respect that.

Hope he latches on to a contender some day and wins one. Hopefully it's us.

honest to goodness, i think he gets so much hate because of his huge contract, but let's say we're somehow able to rebuild quickly by 2015. Would you guys offer Wallace the MLE?

It seems Wallace and Hump now see why playing for Boston is special .....they became attached to a place they never probably thought they would.

I gotta say I'm happy to have come around on Wallace this year.

I never really even cared about the contract because that was just part of a trade and the team needs time to rebuild anyways.  I was just annoyed with his talking to the media in the early part of the season.

Since that stopped though, I've been happy.  He still plays as hard as he can and I have been a big fan of him through his career for that.

I feel like Wallace was cold on Stevens and this whole thing coming in but how it has progressed, I think he just buys into it even if we can't always get the Ws.  That double ejection from the Kings game was probably huge to Walalce for getting totally on board with Stevens (I absolutely loved it too).

Why? Isn't he already under contract through 2016? Unless you mean if we didn't have him already? I think I would offer him the vet min (even though I like his attitude a lot), I think I would try other players with the mid well before I offer it to GWall. It's 5m right? I would offer it to a guy like Hump and just hope he would bite.

I'm relieved that Wallace is done for the year.

Hopefully next year we'll have enough young depth on the wing that he barely plays.

my views on the guy haven't changed. he's not worth his contract, never was. I understand that's not his fault. but you'd think a guy making his money would add something to his team.

I think he's a guy that picks & chooses when he wants to play. his poor play early on this season at times seemed intentional it was that bad.

his improved play before the injury imo was nothing more than reality setting in for him and finally realizing that he's stuck here and likely has no chance of playing for a championship because of the lousy contract he signed. it seemed like he stopped pouting imo.

the sad thing is I always felt he was a pretty darn good player & I was encouraged by the idea of getting him here for the next few seasons as I felt him, rondo, green, sully & hump made a pretty nice team and I didn't think we'd actually be as bad as we are. not blaming him but if we had gotten the player i'd seen over the yrs. we'd be a helluva lot better than we've been.

Wallace has always been a favorite player of mine in the NBA for some reason. I was happy to see his individual success with the Bobcats.

He is just stuck in a bad situation right now. But he's been honest, played hard (for the most part) and is a good teammate. He kinda took on captain/leadership role while Rondo was out...Talking to officials about calls on other guys and what not. I think he is a great guy to have around due to experience and can teach the young guys a thing or two.

He should be playing for a contender however. He would be a great fit off the bench on any of the championship caliber teams. He is playing out of his role here in Boston and he gets a bad wrap due to his contract.

yeah, that's what i meant. if he weren't on contract, he seems like a guy who a contender would happily offer an MLE to. and yeah, its about 5-6m.

Wish he said something like that while active! Had no idea he felt that way. Thought he just hated the whole situation.

I see it as taking on his contract being an acceptable cost for doing the Garnett/Pierce deal.  Once that deal is done, his contract is a sunk cost and (as long as you stay out of the luxury tax) you just hope he is as useful as a lot of guys you might bring in for a minimum contract.

I'm with you, I wouldn't have wished such an injury on him though. Sprained ankle would have worked.

i think alot of the hate for wallace is because the guy is being paid 10million$ and he no longer has the skills to be that type of player. he averages what? 5ppg

and we're stuck with him. But, ainge had to take on that deal for him to get those picks.

I'm not sure I'd offer him the vet min. Definitely not the MLE.
