Jimmer was recently bought out by the Kings. Would you sign him?

I'm thinking release Wallace or Bogans and sign fredette

The C's aren't eating Wallace's salary to sign Freddette. They also aren't moving Bogans right now, his contract is valuable salary filler (it can be waived instantly in the offseason) for any potential trades the C's are involved in.

We'll waive Bogans for nothing if we don't need his contract in a trade, but we can't waive him until the offseason.

I'm thinking you're not exactly on board with how the NBA works. :P

The Celtics have 14 players on the roster, do they don't really need to eat anything. Signing Fredette for the remainder of what is essentially a mulligan season appears like a waste, though.

Also, the team is technically eating Bogans' salary already, given that he's been told to stay home.

Eh eating a guys salary in my view means you've waived him and he can move on somewhere else while you're paying him. Just benching the guy, even benching that means "stay home", doesn't qualify in my book.

We have enough spots and money to sign him for the remainder of the season, so nothing has to be done to anyone else. We are about to sign Babb to a 10-day so chances are we won't have any room soon. I would try to get Jimmer if  it were any other season, this season Wallace is done and AB's ankle is continue to act up so we need someone who can back up Green, Jimmer can't defend at the 2 and he is too small to be a 3 so I doubt we pick him up. He is the type you want with a guy like RR but it's a case of right guy wrong time.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

If I'm the Bulls, wouldn't I rather wait for Ben Gordon? As they say, "The devil you know . . . "

Does Ben Gordon still have his legs to get his shot off? Not sure about that.

Plus I imagine they want to see him so they can consider him as a longer term addition potentially.

I'm not surprised that Chicago wanted him, or that he would prefer the Bulls over the Knicks, but it's a letdown knowing now that March isn't going to be Jimsanity =(

He's allegedly close to signing with the Bulls.

Oh boy, I can't wait to watch Thibs try and get Jimmer to play defense.

Why, were you not paying attention to Eddie House while he was with us?

I actually think it could be great for Jimmer.  He is never going to be a good defender, because he doesn't have the lateral quickness, however I think a guy like Thibs could teach him enough fundamentals to be able to anticipate and make up for his lack of quickness, and to fit into a team defense.

Thibs' system (well, it's not actually HIS system, but he has perfect it) is great at hiding the defensive limitations of perimeter defenders, because it uses the big men so liberally to come up and help cut off angles and be aggressive on pick and rolls.

It is going to take a lot of work and dedication from Jimmer, but I would like to see what he can do.

Perfect example.  House was a bad defender, who Thibs was able to hide.

Yeah, I watched House play really poor defense but receive help from an amazing defender and good system (as Chris pointed out)

Which worked just fine for the team over the long haul. I guess I'm just not sure why you expect Fredette's tenure in Chicago to be any different.
